NBA Live 09 Community Day

Talk about NBA Live 09 here.

NBA Live 09 Community Day

Postby Andrew on Tue Jun 03, 2008 4:39 am

EA Sports will be holding an NBA Live 09 Community Day on June 25th-27th, 2008 at their studio in Vancouver. I'll once again be flying in for the event, which we're all hoping will be a productive experience with an opportunity to provide feedback earlier on in development. I will be preparing myself with copies of our Wishlist and Wishlist Supplement as well as lists of other important points to cover.

Please note that there will be certain details I will not be allowed to discuss immediately after the Community Day, so the usual reports won't be appearing straight away. As soon as I'm free to talk about certain aspects of the game (whatever they may be), I'll be sure to post detailed write-ups.

Ask them if the PC version will be revived in the near future.

I'll certainly try to find out about that, though it might not be something they can answer at this time.

yea i think they are realy more concerned with the console sales witch they make much more money then pc version, blue ray cost alot more then dvd
plus i think they going to release 09 for pc, they going to make that quota that they got as far as console sales, and prophit, once the meet that and there extra change, then they going to release for us scavengers, that how i feel, like a scavenger for nba live for pc. maybe 4 months down the line, or if you let them know how big the nba live community is for the pc version and the work that people here work hard on doing. maybe they would have some things lined up for us over here at the series center, like projects towards the new 09 or for the pc cause im sure other here will Luv to be Apart of a nba live project sponcerd by EA sports that will be sick and big time for the series center crew andrew omg what you think that wont be awesome....

OOooo and ask them if they going to add D League to the game i think that will be so much better so in your dynasty or season you can assign player to and from d league and waive players sign 10 day contracts with free agants make the meaning of the word LIVE in nba realy mean something they cant let other game companys beat them out in realism with the basketball game.. people all over the world know that saying - ea sports its in the game....

I suppose you never know but I honestly think if you're expecting NBA Live 09 to come out for the PC, you're setting yourself up for a huge disappointment. More likely, stressing our desire for a PC version might go a little way in convincing EA Sports to return to the PC for future Lives. I'd be very surprised if they went back on their decision not to release a PC version.

Andrew wrote:Following up on my post about this year's Community Day, the event will now be taking place June 25th-27th instead of June 12th-14th. This shouldn't change anything except I'll have a bit longer to prepare and I'll be around all next week. Once again, I will be under an embargo once I get back but as soon as I'm able to share my impressions with you all I'll be sure to post a detailed report.

The worst part about them is that I'm sure large sites like IGN ignore them so they can be the first to break the news, as they know they can get away with it because they're too big and important to the developers to be blackballed. Still, they don't partake in community events so we get certain opportunities they don't. :)

Ask them to make the console version patchable. Best patches make a download pack on xbox 360...and we recieve some proceeds from the money they make. That shit would surely get me to open up photoshop again (Y)

Usually at least ten different sites take part. Last year's event was smaller though with only five of us.

Okay if EA won't gonna release Live 09 to PC, can you find some time to ask them about a update of mod for 08, which can make our 08 a lil' bit better than now.. If they can import something new for 09 (console version) to the 08 PC, it would be nice.. Hope they won't ignore such a question  (Y)

I doubt they have any plans to release an update pack for NBA Live 08 PC, given they didn't even release an official bugfix when the game was newly released. With NBA Live 09 in production, NBA Live 08 is behind them.

Enjoy yourself in Vancouver Andrew....you definitely deserve it with all the hard work you put in at NLSC....so are you going to spend a couple of extra days in Canada or forced to fly back the minute the community event is over?!? Guess it depends on your work & so on, but if I was you, I'd try to get your work to give you a couple of extra days & extend your holiday a little each time, so maybe you can check out places like Vancouver Island, Seattle & a little bit more....

I was hoping to stay a couple of extra days since I'll likely be under embargo for at least a week anyway but unfortunately I won't be able to do that.

I had too many personal issues Andrew and wasn't able to attend the community event.

So, here's something I'd like as a favor from you when you attend.

Could you please ask EA to increase the CAP's for Live 09....I read your post in the Live 08 forums about the rights to Legends players. I'd like to see them give us full control over editing features of all players so that we can possibly create our own legends pool of players using the existing players in the game if EA doesn't want to give us more 50 CAP's.

This is a feature I've been wanting since the game hit the Next Gen Systems.

Thanks!
