Talk about NBA Live 09 here.

I think most people are aware of that. As for it being the end of the PC version, that hasn't been confirmed by a longshot and the producers at the Community Event were quite receptive to the idea of further PC releases so we'll have to see what happens.

Andrew,
That's good to know that the producers were at least receptive to the idea of future NBA Live games on the PC. I hope that they do consider a "reboot," as you said, and finally give us a decent port of the 360/PS3 version.

It seems to be the MO but we'll have to wait and see. I don't think we'll see a team developing a seperate PC version but simply porting the 360/PS3 version would be a huge step up from the PS2 port we've been getting on the PC.

anyone who buys live 09 for wii is an idiot

But guys talking they dont have enough money for a console somehow pretty dumb. Unless they dont get their PCs elsewhere a 360 port to the PC would be much more expensive than buying a 360
Mon Jul 28, 2008 6:25 pm
Only if they have to upgrade their PCs. Otherwise, buying a new PC game is not going to cost as much as buying a new console.

depends on the country you live in.
the cheapest xbox360's around here go for about 650 US dollar.
that's just about a whole months salary for the job i do. it's an above average salary and you can pay the rent of a decent appartment for less than that around here.
PC hardware isn't that ridiculously higher priced as consoles.
makes you think twice about giving away 100% of the actual US price to buy a console at a local import/reseller instead of paying a much more bearable 30% more for PC hardware.

From my knowledge a 360 coss 200€ and a quad-core with 2gig ram about 600€
Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:05 am
360s are now 300 dollars in the the u.s.

I hope they would have their own developers for PC for the future version of Live. Just like the successful COD4! It makes the game playable even if you have a P4 system.
@ hawks24
hey are those kobe pics photo-shopped?

I don't think everyone would have to upgrade their hardware though, especially if they're avid PC gamers.

who cares? theres not going to be anything new in NBA Live 09.
Wed Jul 30, 2008 5:21 pm
Actually, there is quite a bit of new stuff in NBA Live 09.
Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:44 pm
What about a NBA Live X for the PC, is it possible? I mean, a NG console ported of the Live 09. They can release a copy like this at that interval before Live 10 release.
Thu Jul 31, 2008 3:28 pm
Yeah, like a preview, demo-type thing like Grand Turismo 5 Prolouge(?) did.
Thu Jul 31, 2008 5:12 pm
Possible, yes. Probable, no.
Fri Aug 01, 2008 10:35 pm
As a little preview we can rip 09 ps2

I prefer to wait for a good game than buying a shitty game
Also , live 08 with Alby's patch is a really good game , so i think the solution its a patch like the old 07 SUM , or just rosters updates , maybe try to convert some animations from older nba lives , like some normal dunks and layups because the ones that are in the game are crappy , not realistic and also so so so repetitive , because there is no variety of moves.
We could work trying to add some animations from March Madness ( i really like those dunks and layups , they are not flashy , but realistic , and all i want is a simulator of basketball , not an arcade shit .
I know this post its going a little of topic , but well xD

I'm so dissapointed that nba live 09 will not be released for the PC
Sat Aug 02, 2008 2:25 pm
I think most of us are but it would be arguably more disappointing if a PC version similar to last year - problems and all - was released. If NBA Live is indeed returning to the PC next year as Peter Moore's latest comments suggest, presumably it will be a port of the 360/PS3 version which is certainly the silver lining in having to wait a year.

If a $399 PC can run Crysis...
Sun Aug 03, 2008 11:03 pm
If you invest the $399 for a PC without a monitor, you can buy a PC that can handle Crysis easy...
Mon Aug 04, 2008 1:26 am
well in that case i guess i'll buy more often their products...through piracy...
Tue Aug 05, 2008 4:12 pm
Just FYI folks, EA Sports are releasing a next gen port of Fifa 09 on PC, which would surely mean they haven't dumped the entire PC department. That said though I don't expect to see Live PC making a return since 90% of people that would buy it live in the US, where consoles are selling too damn well.

You're posting without a monitor? Neat.
