NBA Live 09 Release Date Thread

Talk about NBA Live 09 here.

Postby qwomack74 on Fri Aug 01, 2008 12:43 am

I wonder about the release dates as well. I don't think EA would delay it most of the month and let 2k get a leg up on them. This could be a potentially big year for them.

October 7th is the date that's been in the preview videos (and I believe the EA store as well).

NBA LIVE 09 IS COMING TO PC! :D

Sorry, but EA already said that they won't be releasing NBA Live '09 this year for the PC.

No, it's not. Note that it's not listed amongst the platforms available in EA Store or the official website (so there's no inconsistency as with the PSP version) and it has been stated several times by representatives of EA Sports including its president Peter Moore that NBA Live 09 will not be released for the PC. However, it looks as though NBA Live will return to the PC next year.

Who is developing the PS2 version?

HB Studios? If yes, they are too much silent.
or
EA Canada? If yes, they are silent, too.

It doesn't surprise me, the focus of the industry is on the latest hardware. We usually don't get much in the way of PS2 coverage until the last minute. I'm actually more surprised there hasn't been more Xbox 360 and PS3 media though it could pick up in September as we approach the release.

I think they should release NBA Live on the start of the season which is Oct. 28. I'll probably wait for another week or two before buying it :)

The NBA actually sets the release dates and roster cutoff dates, not EA Sports. They can apply for provisions to be made but those dates are at the NBA's discretion.

The first post has been updated with release dates for Australia and New Zealand.

It is unusual for another region to get it first unless there's been a mistake (NBA Live 06 PC went on sale early in Australia because of a mixup) but perhaps not so much this time around with Tony Parker on the cover (as well as Deng being on the UK exclusive cover and Nowitzki once again featuring on the German cover).

It would seem unclear. October 3rd was the date that was originally reported, it may now be the 10th or some countries might still be getting it on the 3rd. It's unusual for another region to get it before North America though (excluding leaks) so the original report may have been a mistake.

I thought you were referring to the PC version of 2K9. My apologies if I was mistaken.

no problem. im done playing basketball games on the pc. the only time i did was when i had nba live 98 up to 2001. once the console caught up with the pc in terms of graphics i decided not to play basketball games on the pc.

It would appear that the initial reports of an October 3rd release in Europe were definitely erroneous. IGN is now reporting the game will be out on the 10th.
