NBA Live 09 Community Day

Talk about NBA Live 09 here.

Postby [Q] on Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:58 pm

from the 4-23 interview with Brian Ulrich:
Brian Ulrich wrote:6.) Is there going to be a legends pool in next year’s game so that we can use some of the old players in exhibition and dynasty mode?

I’d like to get to legends but it doesn’t look like we are going to be able to add them this year.

7.) Has the Create A Player limit been raised above 50 players?

Unfortunately, we can’t raise the limit above 50 due to memory restrictions.

Which were my questions, I thought I sent you an email/PM/something when he answered those playmakers?

It's still something I can bring up, to stress that it's something we'd like to see. It can't hurt to come armed with as much feedback as possible.

Not enough memory ehhhh...

I spent close to $1000 dollars on two system and their telling me they don't have enough memory

That's pretty sad that we spend this type of money on these sytems and games and we are still limited or restricted in many key areas.

I'm a huge fan of old school players and I know they can do something to work around it like trying not to lock the current players BIO and then we can just re-edit them to be the old school players.

I have loads of stats and information to create a entire roster file for every single team and yet I can't get it done because of EA's restrictions on there $60 games each year.

It's something that's worth asking about. Even if it's not feasible then it would be good to get a better understanding of why it isn't. Perhaps modding is something else the NBA isn't too crazy on; whatever the case, it would be good to at least clear it up.

the memory issue is probably to do with having to make games for Xbox 360 consoles that don't have hard drives....that can be the only reason I can imagine....I think they should therefore give PS3 1,000 or more CAP's spots....don't see why they should be punished for Xbox 360....

maybe you can suggest that Andrew ;)

it's worth querying though, & seeing what can be done, even if it is just for ps3....

Im not buying that argument since 2k8 can have over 200 CAPs without issues from there being no HDD.

Exactly. How many teams did they add to NBA Live 08 that weren't in 08? The FIBA teams. I'm pretty sure that's about a hundred players. They could just create about 500 reserved blank spots in the default roster which could be used as place holders until someone uses that spot to create a player.

Perhaps then, there is some aversion to making the console version as customisable as the PC version has traditionally been.

yea, if we can get it past that 50 player mark. I really want to hit them hard on this before the season and see if we can't get that boosted up. Petition w/ media site coverage a la the 07 patch fiasco?

For a CAP limit? Just stress it during community day. "Do you have future plans to make it possible for more than 50 CAPs on a roster, and if no, why not?

Agreed, it would be a bit much just for the CAP limit. An effort like that is more appropriate if there's a lot of issues causing us unrest and dissatisfaction.

Andrew, can you please check to make sure that New Zealand is one of the top 24 teams....despite them being top 16 team during this decade, I'm not really sure they will be due to our size....they should be though....then people can try to back down David Andersen against Pero Cameron & see that it won't happen

Assuming a full list isn't released before then, hopefully I'll get a chance to compile one while I'm over there.

Yes, that's something else I'm planning to bring up. I'll be taking copies of the Wishlist and other references so I can reiterate our suggestions and ask about certain features.

Just a reminder that I'm flying out today for the NBA Live 09 Community Event; a fifteen hour flight awaits me in just a few hours. I'll be doing my best to represent the community at the event by bringing up our most talked about ideas and suggestions for the game, as well as learning all I can about the next instalment of NBA Live. Please note that there are going to be things I won't be able to talk about immediately after I get back but as soon as any embargoes are lifted I'll be posting detailed reports.

I may not have much of a chance to get online during the event, if there's anything I can talk about immediately I'll try to do a quick report on location. I may not be able to get back to any emails or private messages in the Forum so please hang tight, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Have a safe trip Andrew and make sure you be up front with those guys on things that would help this title improve greatly for next year. It shouldn't take 4 years to fix this game on Next Gen
