1080p and 60fps ? fail!

How does EA get away with this crap? deep pockets maybe? lotsa fanboys??
they're releasing their so called "next gen games" when they're missing the two major things that next gen games are supposed to have, 1080p is an absolute must, especially because the PS3 has been out for so long there's no excuse of it being 'too new and hard to work with' and come the hell on man, ps3 has the hardware capability to run your cheap lookin games at 500fps EA, and you can't code it well enough for a consistent 60 frames?!?!! madden 08 last year on PS3 ran at a sweet 30fps, geniuses at work i tells ya !

i bought nba live for the first time in years, last copy i owned was 04, played this demo on my PS3 and liked the way it played, but now im seeing all the little annoyances that made me hate the game for so many years, THEY"RE STILL HERE ! how are they not bankrupt yet

real nice scoreboard screen position by the way, cant see a hoop and backboard, you might as well put the damn thing in the middle of the friggin screen block everything out!

I can't speak from experience as I'm an Xbox 360 user but it was the same deal last year. The 360 version seems to run fine in that regard but no such joy for PS3 users. :?

I believe EA makes the games for 360 & tries to port them across....there in lies the problem....

It was my understanding that wasn't going to happen this year but I could be mistaken.

That's another reason why I went with 2k9. It runs pretty dang well and has awesome gameplay.

On the other hand, you have to understand how inferior consoles are to modern computers. PS3 might have an 8 core CPU, but it's videocard is equivalent to 4 year old PC Tech. XBox360 actually has better GPU, ironically. 1080p is a lie for the most part. Look at GTA, you can run it at 1080p, in reality it gets rendered at 640p on PS3. Truth be told, consoles can't render the graphics that pc's can efficiently. At true 1080p you really can't expect to have over the top graphics these days, they have to improvise. NBA Live does have some sort of AA, or maybe smudging to get rid of jaggies, this could be causing the shitty performance on the PS3.

yea 2k does that to..they port from 360 instead of showing the true ps3 power..but i only own a 360 so i dont care

Sony's own NBA 08/09 series runs in 1080p/60fps, it looks great and runs super-smooth. So the PS3 can certainly handle that without any compromises.

They're definitely not porting from the Xbox 360 though.
