Some info from GameSpot re: Dynasty Mode in '09

Thu Jun 26, 2008 7:43 am

I was browsing Gamespot as I do and, while reading the 'hands-on' preview they have so far on NBA Live '09, I found some interesting tidbits.
This might not be new stuff but I still thought it was worth passing on.

"The franchise mode has been expanded slightly to allow for the evaluation of the current draft class in scrimmages at the team's training facility. You will be able to evaluate how well these players perform in your team's particular offense and defensive schemes, as well as draft, based on the results of what you learn. So far, this is all we have seen of the franchise mode, though EA has mentioned other additions to the online leagues as well, which we will cover once we learn more."

it sounds good but i think this is old

I wouldn't doubt that it is a little dated. I did say that the info might not be "new stuff."

There's some cool stuff in the NBA Academy, which I'll elaborate on as soon as I'm able. :)

That's cool Andrew.. I'm sure excited to hear what NBA Live '09's gonna be like. Your hands on report will be very cool and much appreciated when it comes out.

Andrew, do you know if the Dynasty/Season mode in NBA Live 09, will have the ability to play 28, and 56 game seasons as was such in past editions of the game? Or will we be stuck with playing 82 game seasons again, like last season (which killed the game for me)

Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:01 am

The ability to play 28 or 56 games in Dynasty and Season modes would be most welcome.

Mon Jun 30, 2008 11:06 am

I can't talk about anything just yet, sorry. I'll address those issues and answer questions once the embargo is lifted.

No worries mate. It's just the main thing I want to find out, lol. I didn't play a single dynasty or season last year, as I just couldnt keep the interest or had the time to run 82 game seasons, they just dragged on far too long.

Will keep my fingers crossed in the mean time though!

I just keep praying that they will allow saving during the offseason like 2K Does.

ah great nba live 09 might have a visual indicator thing for shooting. i hate those things it's so easy to shoot with them in any difficulty. but besides that the game sounds great!!! :D :D :D

Tue Jul 08, 2008 10:45 am

It doesn't show up during gameplay, only in the NBA Academy.

Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:03 am

That's interesting, Andrew. Do you think that the indicator thing will be considered and expanded upon in NBA Live 2010?

Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:11 am

I don't know how else they could expand on it. It already serves it purpose.

Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:28 am

I think you misunderstood my question... I was wondering if they would use that in gameplay in a future NBA Live game...

Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe, though it's intended as a tool to help you practice in the NBA Academy. It might be a bit distracting to have during gameplay.
