using the max drive for pst updates

Postby Cleveland wins on Sat May 16, 2009 8:42 am

Recently i just downloaded the updates for the playstation 2, i have the max drive cd but, how do you get the updates onto the live 09 cd? And can i use the psp updates which are more recent for the ps2? Because on my ps2 options, it says transport to psp or something. So how do i make sure the updates are saved on the memory card? And how do i get the updates after their saved? Do i go to the load rosters menu?

You don't; you can't copy files onto a PS2 disc, it's not writeable. You need to use the Max Drive software to copy the save to a memory card. Assuming there aren't any problems with the save file, it will then appear in the list of saved NBA Live 09 files in the game (so long as the appropriate memory card is being used, of course) and can be loaded as normal.

I had the air max disc in the drive while i downloaded the max file, but when i go to uncrush the file it says there are no files to uncrush. I don't understand how to transfer the max file to the memory card. Do you have to send the max file to the air max cd or copy the max file? Or do you have to extract the file?

I'm using a different device, but usually you have to copy the file to a USB thumb drive that comes with the software, insert the USB into one of the ports on the PS2 and use the PS2 disc (ie the Air Max disc) to access the thumb drive and copy the data to your memory card. As I said I'm using a different product so I couldn't give you useful step-by-step but if you've got the instruction booklet handy or you Google something along the lines of "copying files from pc to ps2 using air max" you should be able to get more detailed instructions.
