Offensive
Can anyone suggests any good offensive plays for perimeter players who wants to come off a screen and get an open jumper? I noticed that plays do not result in an open shot, like SG stagger or something like that. I want to attempt more mid range jumpers, all i could do is attack the rim rite now and go to the line, or post up. How do you attempt a more successful mid range shot without any plays? Is there a pick and pop, play, or just the quick pick and roll? How do you call for a screen, when off ball? (Rip Hamilton, or Ray Allen...)
Defensive
The 2-3, 3-2 zones are bad, the players are always on the weak side (all bunched up). I only find the 1-3-1 zone a little more effective, is it possible to adjust sliders for better zone defense? What plays do you use when you need a stop? My options are full court trap or 1-3-1 zone, but anybody else could suggest other good plays?
Also when playing with 2k camera view, can i make the game not zoom in, it is very hard to play when i could only see 2 or 3 players that is around the ball. I could not see players who are on the weak side, when they cut in, its over.
Please give me some suggestions! Thanks in advance!

Read the manual.

Full court press then when the ball crosses the halfcourt line, back to man-to-man.

Set the zoom value to the lowest and turn off the Key Zoom.

I really like the quick-plays they're simple and effective IMO. Once you get the hang of those, you can add on a couple of your favourite plays, (Go to plays to try them out)
I agree, some of them are awful, but a lot of them just involve some screens and cutting.
SF Backdoor Cuts (utah etc) are okay, but its' just a intermediate pass to the elbow, while the wing player cuts.
The SG / PF , PG / C screen and rolls are okay, yet another variety of "pick and roll" with movement. Just driving and dishing to the outside, works too sometimes. And if you really want to cheese, just get a post player hot, they will double then dish out for the wide open 3 or 2 point shot. (I wish there was a clear-er pick and pop, its hard to get big men like Dirk and Okur good looking outside shots without the quick pick and roll)
I agree, I dislike the 2-3, 3-2 zones because they don't play a good zone, and they never close out on the outside shooters.
Just stick with man/traps/fullcourt 1-3-1 but you have to play the middle man and if there is a good shooter, then close out on him.
Don't play with the 2K camera view then. Skybox. Zoom out. Turn Autozoom off, (w.e that thing is called)
Also, try downloading one of the patches. Juza's / Alby's makes gameplay better. Then change them to your liking.

one question
when you set up the free-throw mode, whats the difference between the two different options? what does exactly take into account players real free throw percentages mean?

I think when you use the real free throw percentage mode, free throws are simulated, the user is not controlling the shot. The other mode is when the user controls the shot based on the release.

That's because zone defenses suck against good outside shooting, even in real life. Teams break a zone with good shooting.
Don't expect to play a zone defense and expect to properly defend outside shots.

ok, and i have got one (little) problem..i"m playing with the suns and a cant get opet at the middle range..i"m doing the post at shaq, they take double team on him, but this works only for 3pt...my actions are:4 quick, motown music, pg-c pick and pop...can you tell me some good offensive action for middle range?
ps.i think best mix of defenses are fullcourt press at later stages or when is closely with the result, and normal man to man, with no double teams..sometimes, when my opponent is really in shooting slump,i use 2-3 zone(sometimes really work, they are shooting but they can"t hit anything)..and,pls, can anybody tell me some good player for exchange to gerald wallace, i have him, but he is awful damnt! he cant score! i"d like to trade him...so, i hope i will help to somebody...
