This game is a joke. A sad, sad joke. Are there any people out there who enjoy this game? I just played three games today...for nothing. Wasted my time. I don't want to restart my association for the fifth time. My statistics are realistic...but I cannot win. Some slight tweaking gives me wins but I win too often and shoot 55%.

This game pisses me off so much it's horrible. This game is either crap and nobody wants to admit it or it is only for experts...or for cheesers. I could score with cheesing, too but I cannot enjoy this game with my realistic style of play. I either shoot too well or get cheated by the horrible cpu.

I had a good first half.
1st quarter: 34-19
2nd quarter: 23-19

A huge lead is a free ticket to "let's watch the cpu cheat you to death". I could have also quit the game by half-time as I knew what would follow...

3rd quarter: 16-33
4th quarter: 20-40

In the third quarter I missed many open shots and even dunks.
The cpu hit like 10 shots in a row. And yes, I called many timeouts.
I keep missing, the cpu keeps hitting...oh what fun it is to lose against a stupid, cheating cpu.
And no, I play WITHOUT clutch factor!

The cpu team grabbed 22 offensive boards! With these settings: user of. 55, user def. 60, cpu of. 20, cpu def. 50.
And on PRO LEVEL! Come on, Allstar and HOF should be hard but even the second easiest mode is a horrible cheatfest? I am not that good but I definitely don't suck. I just want to play realistic basketball. My statistics are really perfect. The cpu stats are also perfect...but they get too many offensive boards...and shoot too often. I don't want to lose every game but I don't want to shoot above 50% or have too many rebounds.

Yao Ming is not real. This is horrible!
He had 22 rebounds...10 of them were offensive rebounds! I jumped, I boxed out...I had three guys under the basket who jumped...and he grabbed the rebound...not because of timing...my player wanted to grab it and the animation was strange...the ball magically got stuck to Yao Ming's hand like a magnet. I couldn't do anything. The ball always flies right back to his hand.

I don't know what to do now. The comeback logic is more horrible than in Live 2003.

Why should I even play this stupid game when I either lead by 20 and lose due to the comeback cheating...or I'm behind by 20 and get a close game due to my comeback logic? It is boring.

And it really pisses me off when the cpu not only cheats but those animations are really bad and players run through others. Should I laugh? Should I cry? This should be a serious game with all those glitches?

i play with pdbus sliders and irpt roster,all star lvl and i dont get sh1t like this... yes game has many bad things and glitches but its playable... live wasnt playable though

It is playable but not for me. I want to have realistic stats but it does not work. The problem is that the cpu cheats and makes many unstoppable moves, e.g. backdoor passes. The cpu shoots much more than I do but if I lower his sliders I get too many defensive rebounds. Still haven't found a way to get realistic results for both teams AND wins and losses.

You aren't going to get perfection in a basketball game and you haven't ever had perfection in a basketball game, deal with it.

Either enjoy the fact that we have a 20 dollar, 360 port, basketball game available, go back to an older Live game, or just watch the playoffs and annoy the hell out of the 2k developers to convince them to release 2k10 on the PC's when most likely >50% of it's PC community downloaded it and then bitch 'em out on all your little nitpicks.

Unless a player morphs right through your defender and scores the game winning dunk on you, I don't want to hear your crap about animation clipping anymore.

It's not 20 $ here. It's 45 or something like that. I'd rather pay 100 $ for a flawless game like NBA Live 2000 than get some bugs for 20 $.

The Rockets have a crash boards setting of 90 in the playbook. Seems to be the root of their evil. LOL

I can do one last experiment and tweak all playbooks and lower the offensive speed of all teams.

I'm enjoying this game like hell!!! I'm having great great gameplay with Juza's roster, patched game, 12 mins. on Pro and default sliders (except for CPU Clutch = 20, CPU Strength = 0, User Strength = 100 and User Quickness = 0). 4th association year (I mostly sim, and play some crucial games), I can post-up (not easily though, specially 'cause of double-teams), and I always have games in +-10 points. Either I win by 10 or less or lose by 10 or less. Realistic gameplay and statistics.

I love this game so much. I started a season with the Lakers and so far it's been awesome. Kobe (me) just drove in and hit a game-winning layup with Howard (he bumped kobe in mid-air) and Dirk contesting the shot but kobe still managed to hit the layup even with the contact and non-call. Also, it's not like NBA LIVE where u can just drive in for an automatic layup/dunk or foul, NBA 2K9 is probably the best basketball game on the PC market right now. Remember, EA screwed us over with their basketball game, they just release the same game every year but just added a few new animations and tons of bugs. Just enjoy 2K9 man.

My current record is 0-4. I cannot win with my sliders but nevermind. Had a good game, the game was tied after two quarters...but Dallas made their shots. They were leading by 10 points with two 1:50 to go when the nice game logic decided to force a close game. I hit three back-to-back 3-pointers that were even contested. It`s pretty easy when you are down by some points. All you have to do is to give the ball to Crawford and he will hit contested threes. Lost 109-111 then.

i dont know what is wrong with you but first of all i think only you got problems like cpu shooting like over 5people from 3point line and so on.
Btw dude superstars do hit contested shots... anyways im 4-2 with my heat and i lost to dallas by 20points cause Wade was perfectly defended and even he wasnt able to score.

Not really. I just want to get realistic stats but cannot win with my sliders. I also have to admit that I don´t want to fight for 48 minutes...I don´t want to concentrate on every single inch of the court. Or in other words: I just want to have fun and relax while playing AND get realistic stats and not work with dozens of buttons, sticks and settings. I have no patience and just want to get my stats. Therefore, I do not play good D all the time (I even suck) and do not want to concentrate 100% as this would be hard work and I don´t need more work added to my job etc.
It should be relaxing but yield realistic statistics, which is impossible as it seems.

I´ll stop complaining and just play the game or leave it. I know that my complaints are annoying. Sorry.

Dont know if its me or im pro defender ( dont think so ) but with pdub sliders 10min qts and all star level , only dallas scored 100 or more points against me,over teams gets like 95 ~ per game,and i got 8blocks per game so far
p.s i played only 6games so far so of course stats will get lower

I am currently playing at home vs. the Magic. I am down 38-64 at halftime. LOL but no, I won´t complain.

My FG% is 34. I missed seven open threes with no single player near me. Only shot with good shooters...still no luck. Well, this is not my fault. I can just try and miss although my players are wide open and my release is perfect.

The problem is that I cannot get steals. On-ball -> reach-in. Raise hands -> watch the cpu score. Try to intercept a pass is too difficult for me as I have to leave a player and will leave him wide open. The Magic run and gun and get a fast break after each of my many misses. Don´t have a clue what to do.

I will record some action with Fraps.

Lost 92-118. Stats were ok but I could not hit anything from downtown. Lots of open but missed attempts. Only 37% from the field. No player scored more than 10 points except for CURRY. He started the game in order to defend Howard and had 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in 24 minutes. He even had two 3pt-plays against Howard.

Lost vs. Memphis 100-102. I played well, the stats were great and both teams had their ups and downs but the cpu always has his magic moments to seal the win. I don´t think that I can win with my sliders. My player stats are very cool though. Very realistic FG% for all players.

But now I gotta say that I´m outta here. Will restart my assocation with different sliders.

Two things:

1) The choice of cams is important. I usually play with nosebleeds and zoom 10 as I do not want to play with tiny players. The big disadvantage is that I cannot see the whole zone within the 3pt-line. Fast breaks suck, sometimes playvision tells me to pass to a player but I only see the green line but not the player and his icon. And I do not see all of the cpu team´s players and well...

2) Running plays is important. If I run a play and follow the arrows my player makes most of the shots with a defender right in front of him. This is really strange! "Follow the arrow and take a shot with a defender in your face...it will drop because you followed the arrow"...."if you do not follow the arrows you tend to miss shots although rather open".

I played on rookie and it was too easy. I continued with my assocation and...attention! Won my first game! My record is now a glorious 1-5. The game was strange. I scheduled a mid/long range practice and then had four players with As from downtown. I missed some open shots, 2 open dunks and 1 open layup and got upset. All games before had been around 100 PPG...now that I had improved ratings the damn cpu was like a mirror...I had many, many threes @ 43% from downtown ahd shot 53% from the field...what the cpu cheated its way back...and had the same amount of threes and FG%. Come on... I won the game 133-128...very unusual scores. Quentin Richardson scored 32 points in 21 minutes off the bench.

EDIT Oh, I forgot that Curry had 6 assists! Post up, wait for the double-team, kick it out to a guard and baaang!

play on rookie and keep adding clutch untill you have full clutch and can still win. then move on to the next difficulty without clutch and repeat.

I admit on NBA 2K9 with knicks I really have to play hard defense if I play with some stronger than knicks..,,But when I play with team wich is equal or worse than knicks I can easily win.Tip:download the new roster update because I saw in earlyer post that you stil have J.C. in knicks,,when you have Harrington its easy for the threes.(still in VIP viewer have 3-point record and its him )
