Setting up different controller settings for different profi

How exactly do you set up two different controller button configurations when you're playing against a friend on a PC? Is this something that can be assigned to profiles?

Seems that every time I would set up two different settings in the options menu, the last one would be used by both controllers.

Please help me.

go to user profiles - then edit the controller configuration for that particular profile
