Why aren't there any player introductions in 2k9?

Why? Still one of the greatest part in basketball games. "Starting at center...Dwight Howard" etc.
Are only EA allowed to use player introductions?

duh EA owns everything
2k opts for a more TV presentation style, the last time they announced the starters was in ESPN Basketball (aka 2k4) and they did it during the loading screen with portraits and the stadium announcer

They're announced that way for the home team in all the subsequent last gen versions.

No way..adding more animations will just create more lags!
