How do you Player Lock?

My friend and have 2 360 controllers [wired] on PC NBA 2K9 and we're playing on the same team but we get confused cuz he switches players and jumps one to another. My Question is that how can i player lock so like he only stay with C and I only stay with the PG?

IIRC, you can edit it in the user profiles.

When you go to user profile, you can only change settings for the keyboard 
And I'm not gonna use the keyboard, so, how to do this for controllers???
