Black Screen

Well I think that I wasted $20. I install the game and start it up. All that I get is a black screen, but I can hear the game fine. Is it my video card? Is this fixable? Thanks!

1.- No, you didn't waste 20 bucks, but you'll need to spend more.
2.- Yes it is your video card
3- The only way to fix it is to buy a new video card.

The thing is this game only runs with v-cards that support Shader Model 3.0 (Pixel and Vertex Shaders). So if your video card doesn't support them you get a black screen. There's no software workaround, despite what you read on the forums. You can find cheap video cards that run this game. I reccomend getting an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro, that's the best mainstream card in the market, and it's not that expensive!

Wow! Thanks so much! But since I am not too good with computers, will they fit in laptops? And is this the card I want?

Yeah! That's exactly the card I have in my desktop PC.

The thing is it won't fit in a laptop, most laptops are not modifyable.
In my laptop I have a NVidia 7000 GS which is the basic card to run 2K9. In fact I can't play a normal game, it lags too much, I only play blacktop on my laptop.

Hey, I still haven't bought a graphics card yet, but will do it ASAP for this Euroleague patch. Could someone please tell me the very, very cheapest graphics card that supports pixel Shader 3.0? Thanks!
