please help me

i just got nba 2k9 a week or so and have been playing the game and love it. the only problem is that during gameplay, the g ame speed goes in slowmotion for a period of like 2 seconds and goes back to normal. This just started. It started when i used textmod to use the xbox 360 controller patch so i played thegame normally and it did t he same thing. i read that turning down the crowd to low may help so i did that but 4 minutes into the game the players go in slow motion its really annoying. i'm surprised it hasn't cost me a game yet. i am able to play any other game on my pc like fallout 3 perfectly fine all levels at max here are my spces:

windows xp
service pack 2
amd atholn 64x2 dual core processor 5000+ 2.60 ghz
3.25 gb of ram
nvidia geforce 9600 gt video card.

i think this happens because of your processor many users also have this kind of problem in the 2k forums the best thing you gotta do is update the drivers of your motherboard or processor then your VC
