Can I do sth to speed up my 2k9 gaming

Postby radzadam on Wed Nov 05, 2008 5:56 am

My computer specs:
AMD Sempron 2600 +
GeForce 7600 GT DDR2 512
ASUS k8vx-e[MoBo]
1,5 GHZ Ram
What Can I do to speed up 2k9? I want to play on 1024x768 with all settings low but even with those sets 2k9 is slow, not very slow, but slow. Maybe there are some applications which makes that my computer can be speeder ? Please, help me !

I may be wrong but I believe Semprons aren't supported. They're single core and 2.2GHz at most so, either change your processor or settle for "slow, not very slow, but slow."

You'll have to check your motherboard specs first, because if it's as old as your CPU, you'll certainly need to upgrade it as well. And depending on the new motherboard, you may also need some different RAM. It's endless... :|

If you decide that you will upgrade in the near future, overclock your current cpu and squeeze all the perfomance you can get for now.

A single core 2.5 GHz processor won't change much. Besides, you can get an Athlon 64 X2 5200 (2.6 GHz dual core) for just about $100 which is probably compatible with your motherboard.

argghhh,Athlon 64 X2 5200 isn't compatible because my MoBo is a socket 754 ;/ And this Athlon requires a AM2 socket ;/

since your cpu is so old and ur mobo is so old, it is not worthwhile to spend even little money on upgrading it with outdated models as this will not last long when different products come out everyday requiring higher specs.

so spend a little more and build another rig. u may probably still use your gpu if you're tight on money but u definitely need a new mobo ram cpu

Lower the resolution from 1024*768 to 800*600. You will gain much performance increase.
