Season Mode - Other team's Rotation Problem

Sat Nov 01, 2008 2:10 am

Hey guys, I decided to start a season mode in NBA 2K9, I was playing as Toronto and was facing Philly in the first game. I noticed that the CPU (Philly) was using all the bench players in their rotation and by the end of the game, all 12 players for the Sixers got some minutes in the game in a close game which is unrealistic since normally teams would use 8-10 player rotation in a real NBA game. So I started an Association mode season and the same thing, the CPU teams will always use all of their 12 players in each game even in simulated stats (there was no "DNP" or 0 minutes played for anyone on any team).

However the problem does not exist during a quick game mode since I have adjusted all the cpu's rotation so that teams that normally use an 8 man rotation will use 8 man rotation in the game and so forth. The problem only occurs in season mode and association mode.

Is there a way that I can adjust the cpu's rotation so therefore the cpu uses it's proper number of players off the bench instead of always using a 12 man rotation? Or is there any other solution possible?

Also, yes you're probably thinking that i should pause the game at the beginning and switch to the cpu's team so i can change their substitution from Fatigue to Rotation, lol the thing is that I always do that at the beginning of every game and still the cpu still sticks with the 12 man rotation in season/association mode.

Thanks

Doesn't anyone notice this problem in season/association mode?

You're talking in the simulated games, right?

I think maybe this might be something to try. When starting the association choose Fatigue for the default substitution pattern.

You can set it to rotation in games you play.

I'd be curious to see if this works.

I hope there's a way to patch or alter the sim because there are far too few rebounds.

I also wish there were something in 2k9 like in Live that made star player take more of the load in a played game. I'm tired of seeing Vukovich score 25 points on 35 shots, while Kobe takes 10 shots and scores only 15. The stars don't take over enough in played games.

Pretend Doc Rivers coaches every team in the league.
