MSAA quality - can't change

Anyone else not able to change this setting? I'm able to set MSAA to 8x but the second line - MSAA quality, I can't change. Pretty weird as I'm sure I was able to change it on my friend's system. He has an 8800GT. I have a Radeon 4850.

For ati it loads 8xMSAA

and on nvdia it loads 4xMSAA & 8xCSAA.. its Nvdia trick... they spend a lot of money to make game developers support NV

I almost never use AA (my video cards were never powerful enough to run at 1680x1050 AND have AA). That's why I always thought it was better looking to have the game do the AA and not the driver software.

I do use CCC, but the game seems to take AA and ignore MSAA

you can change msaa quality in the config.cfg file.
but for me(radeon4870) setting it to something other than 0 actually decreased graphics quality(i got more jagged edges, especially visible in the menus). i have now set atic ccc to let the game handle msaa(8x) and only forced anisotropic filtering to 16x in ccc.
