Anyone experienced these? (artifacting+freeze)

Tue Oct 28, 2008 7:51 am

I have experienced some problems I wanted to share with you, my specs are:
Intel Core2Quad 2.40GHz
2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (latest drivers installed)

The games runs smooth like butter even though I putted all the graphic settings on max.

When in-game, I get some crazy lines coming out of players like so:

Plus, I have really serious crashes/freezes while playing the game

Anyone has/had these problems? was someone able to find a fix?

did u overcloked your video card? if u did, try to revert it to its defaullt settins...

or delete any files on 2k9 SAVE folders

Don't delete your saves, but you can remove them to a different directory and start the game fresh to see if that is actually causing the problem. You do'nt want to lose your saves if it's not the problem.

Try downgrading your videocard drivers first.

I've seen issues like that, and it could be due to overheating or videocard memory problems. I can't recall the exact card, but it was an Nvidia card not too long ago that had major problems with it's memory chips and most of them had to br sent back and replaced. Try underclocking your videocards memory and core and see if it continues.

I have the latest videocard drivers (first thing I checked), I myself haven't touched any of the overclocking configuration, can you guide me how to reset it to default just in case?

@Pdub, it would be very helpful if you can find out for me which Nvidia card had the problems you are mentioning, because my card was fine until now and isn't causing problems in other games..

If someone has the same videocard that I have please post your experience in 2K9 :(

I don't believe it was the 8800, but maybe the 7800? My brother had the one that needed to be rma'd and he found alot of people were complaining about the same thing with the same card.

I also said to downgrade your video drivers, not ugprade.

Search google on how to overclock your 8800. Underclocking is the same concept, you just lower the settings instead of increasing them.

Looks like artifacting. Not a good sign. Usually a sign your video card is overheating or that it's defective in some way. Does this happen in your other games?

I would download rivatuner and check it for artifacting. Should also set it at its default clock and memory speed (which should be on your box or looked up on the internet).

I have played NFS and Gears of War on max settings without any problems.. I will download 3DMark06 and rivatuner and see if anything helps..

I wish someone else with the same problem could be of help here.. I fear like I'm the only guy with this artifacting problem..

The game doesn't support your videocard.

I experience your freezing problems too. It just randomly freezes. Usually after a whistle for a foul / whitle after a timeout. Usually at the end of 1st quarters (7min q)
I don't know what the solution is but restarting helps about 25% of the time. It does this to me on XP and VISTA.

The problem causing this is probably not the hard disk being damaged since I tried on two HDDs. I'm guessing it's my RAM that's bad???

2GB Patriot PC6400
8600GT - pretty cheap card but should be able to handle nonintensive situations
Core 2 Duo E6750 2.4Ghz (or maybe it's my CPU??)

Anyone else having same issues too???

With my 9800 GTX on max people's clothes disappear.

On high settings the nets sometimes disappear, and once in a while there's a glitch where the ball kind of warps to some distance away from the player dribbling it.
