NBA 2k9 PC Moddable?

Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

NBA 2k9 PC Moddable?

Postby arden_05 on Sun Oct 19, 2008 6:17 am

Since some of our European community members have the game and are playing it as we speak, is there any indication as to if the game is moddable?

What do we need for it to be moddable? How would we know?

Maybe. But I wonder if those NBA Live patchers can do anything with it since NBA 2K9 is a completely different game as NBA Live and the way to modify this game can be different as well.

Well... let's just hope the great patchers actually buy the game.

And pricks don't bother them constantly about modding the game.

Assuming none of our tools are compatible, I'd say we could at least update the rosters to a certain extent since CAP give us a function to add missing players and then it's just a matter of distributing the saved file. If we can't edit hidden attributes right off the bat then that's obviously going to limit what can be achieved with the roster updates but we'll just have to see. If they use a database file that we can edit with DB Commander or MS Excel though then we should be able to edit the rosters more thoroughly.

well the patching golden age of NBA Live is definitely behind us and those that made NBA Live patching possible have, for the most part, been gone for a long time.

I guess the people that have the game could start by telling us what kind of file types they are seeing. :D

Why are you such a moron? You always have something obnoxious to say. You have to be a prepubescent teenager or something. Be mature, and actually add constructive comments instead of being an a*s.

I would not say the golden age is behind us. When NBA Live returns next year, it will still be moddable to a certain extent. They still use BIG and VIV files and ACT files. Just a different image container and 3d model format.

After some experts crack a tool for 2k9 like they did for Live back in the old days, it will be moddable. Problem is, god knows when that will happen.

Pdub, sorry for disturbing you, but have you recieved the PM I sent you a couple of days ago?

It's only 3 days nitwit. They want to enjoy the game first before bowing down to some rtard's request.

here´s a screenshot of the filetypes used for nba 2k9. overall i think there´s only about 8 or 9 different ones. hopefully someone can figure out how to open and edit them, so modders can do their magic.

I'll keep it "PG Rated" for you. Pull the thong out of your bottom. And stop being such a child, or maybe you can't help it. All your whining and all the "sass" you display are sissy traits. We are all men here so act like one (that's if you can. I know its hard), genitals are not for everyone. Stop your pms-ing

Since I don't argue with kids or those of inferior intelligence, I'm not going to address you anymore, nor should anyone else until you start acting like a grown up (shaking my head at high functioning morons)

daHive31,

Thanks for the screen shot of the files

thanks daHive, files looking much more clearer now... loc.fff, maya_textures.iff, etc.

Edit: .iff are also files found on games like The Sims that can also be edit and may have a program to do so.
