Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

Rock me fucking sexy
Basketball will be coming to your computers this year. Many of you have already seen that NBA 2K9 will be released on the PC on various sites, and I wanted to confirm that. The extra bit of news, however, is that the game will be a XBOX 360 port. It will be released October 21st in PC gaming stores everywhere. Feel free to discuss!

Cool stuff, can't wait to see how it looks and plays.
This is all very strange though. Given the nature of this market, I would have never thought this type of game could have been ported to a PC version. I'm really wondering what could have played a role here and convinced 2K to do this (I doubt the few petitions here and there really had that much of an impact). Still, that's very good news

well if its a port of the 360 version (aka compile to windows version according to benji & pdub) then you can check out the beta version over at operationsports.com

He already said it was a 360 port.

I'm pretty much banging my head against the wall for getting a console, didn't see this one coming at all. True NBA gaming back on PC, a 360 port for $20. Mind-blowing.

Since this is seemingly a last minute announcement, I'm wondering how much the fact that EA Sports would abandon the PC support for a year affected that decision. I mean, if 2K9 ends up being a great basketball game on PC, how many people would still trust EA and come back to Live once it's back on PC (2010 apparently)? Possibly a great tactical move from 2K here, but we'll have to see how optimized it is for PC first...

Actually, the nature of the market (no EA) and advances in technology (compile for Windows button) promotes it.
Short version:
FREE MONEY.
EDIT: Lulz at you posting the same basic idea as I was making this one.

Do you guys have any idea on what are the minimum system requirements going to be like? At least roughly - I'd like to know if it is worth waiting for.

I hope all the great patchers get some inspiration from this. We might see some of the best patches ever to grace a pc game especially with 360 graphics. Ouch.

About 2K exploiting the fact that there won't be a Live 09 on PC, therefore they can capitalize on all the disappointed PC fans?
I don't know, that sounds like a reasonable explanation to me at least, given that this PC version is announced barely a month before release. But I could be wrong, may 2K had that in mind for a while...

lol..yea 2k needs some of the lives brilliant modders..i was orignally a live guy..but kinda went to 2k..but seriously since pc is the first for 2k..we need your help..

you can kind of tell it was on their mind a while cause they already told the info that they were going to sell a pc as well to places like gamespot gamestop..etc.. they just didnt want to admit it so people would be suprized..but look how it worked out lol

Nice to see it confirmed. Maybe give it a shot, but with a laptop doubtful it'll be able to run anything.
