Hey Jao, how long did it take you to download the patch? Mine still says 5hrs and it's only downloading between 25-50kb/s, is it just me or is everyone experiencing a slow download rate?

It took about 35 minutes.

Yes! Finally! I'm gonna try it as soon as I get home from office! But I don't have the steam version, I have the retailed box version. How can I install this?

Re: NBA 2K9 PC Patch has now been Released!

The patch is installed using steam, and I thought all 2k9 versions needed steam. I too have a retail box version but you had to verify and play the game through steam, so that is how the patch is updated.

I bet patching a cyberface will be easier and just involve replacing the mip file.

i tried to install without installing steam (since my copy has a cd key) but it wont

My download was slow, it said 30 seconds left at the beginning but it took a good 10-15, not as long as everyone else.

Does the patch include an updated roster?

Just downloading... @ 1.8 MB / sec. ;)
My connection is quite fast...I download from fast servers with a speed of 1-2 MB / sec.

It should have at least a somewhat updated roster. I'm downloading it right now and I'm at 25%.

aaatt llaaaassssttttt...so any news yet regarding the new patch? what's in it?

Re: NBA 2K9 PC Patch has now been Released!

Had a quick look. Rosters have been updated but I guess not all trades. I just checked the Knicks. Crawford plays in GST etc. ... and Roberson has now been created by 2KSports.
Some ratings have changed (overall ratings of players).

Played a quick game...the patch looks good so far.

=> the lag during team selection in quick game mode is still there but
=> the free throw lag is gone
=> cutscenes (e.g. at half time) are much better now, no more lag like before.
=> I think the audio settings have changed as well.

I had to use 100 for announcer, 85 commentary and the rest in the 25-30s as the announcer was hardly audible. You could not hear all of his stuff even with my settings. Now his volume has been raised and it is really loud with my settings.

Did they fix AMD processor issue?

If there was a roster included, it would be in the exe. Nothing was added to the saves folder.

They upgraded so many chests.

A Roster is defenitely included, since there are trades done, accessoires updated and also some new dunk packages available for certain players. You have to reset the roster, though.

What do you mean with chests updated, the models?

The files of jerseys, stadiums and shoes seem to have stayed the same, only the player files seem to have changed and updated, everytinhg else are still .iff.

I don't see any 2.0 dunk packagess the roster is not completely up to date I don't see no new sig shotss or dunk packages the game seems to paly better though.

Reset your Roster and go to Edit player, go to Lebron and und Dunk package you'll see there is Dunk 5, for Wade it's Dunk 10, those weren't there before and they also can only be selected for those players, that means you won't find Dunk 5 on any other player than Lebron, same goes for others. And in the preview shown for the Package you see it's different from their others.

You can load your previous roster (albys for example) and see that those Dunk packages don't exist there, it's only with the new roster, which is propably included in the .exe, but i think if you save them the saved file will also include those updated things.

The Console versions also got those updates, so i think it's the same as in the PC version. The gameplay fixes will propably also be the same for PC, only other hardware related bugs etc. will be different from the Consoles i suggest.

Is there a patch for PC?! and where I can download
P.S idon't have the original :|

I think for those who are planning to make a Roster update for everyone, they should base their rosters that was included with the patch (you need to reset your roster to see the changes) since they will be missing dunk packages + missing players.

No doubt guys c'mon.... It is only $20... Show 2K some love. Do you want another release on the PC?

That is not the way to get it.

40$ here but still cheaper than other games, especially from EA.

It's a joke because many of the dbm and mip files that were added were named chest, face, and norm.

Lol, ok, got me :)

And i can't stand the guys here posting they don't have the original game, atleast they should keep it for themselves. It's a shame.
The Admins should do something about that in my opinion...but well...

For those who are curious, the gameplay is quite different for those who use the texMod version to play NBA 2K9 after the patch.

For example, the update altered the Post game so that there is no backing down to the post for an easy two but if you are using the texMod version to play the game, you will not experience the changed gameplay the patch has included.

Therefore you will not experience the patch fully (gameplay-wise) if you choose to use the texMod way to play if you want to still implement your mods.
