Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

are you guys going to patch nba 2k9 since EA abandoned PC this year?
Tue Sep 30, 2008 11:07 am
It is great to hear that it is coming out on PC, but I have to wonder what the system requirements will be..
Tue Sep 30, 2008 11:12 am
Is there not a 2k9 on pc thread already?
Tue Sep 30, 2008 11:12 am
There are 7 of them.

For what it's worth, I've posted a bulletin about it in the NLSC news
here, also outlining our plans as far as the site is concerned.

So did we need this one as well?

This is simply fantastic. I've wanted this for years, but never thought it would actually happen. I'm a bit dissapointed it's a 360port, as i'll have to update my computer, but i guess it's a good thing on the whole. Plus i only just bought an Xbox360, mostly to play NBA 2k. Awell.
But finally, a good NBA game on PC.
It will be really interesting to see how patchable the game is. If it is patchable, the community will be buzzing like it's Live'99! Completely new files, new methods. Everything we know about NBA Live will become irrelevant. EA Graphics editor, and shit like that, gone. Now obsolete. Now the extreme patchers will be trying to figure out the files, making progs to aid with patching. This is a whole new era in PC basketball. Everything is new again. We're basically starting completely fresh! And it's just downright exciting.
Andrew, i don't know if your loyalty to NBA Live is such a smart one. Why have a site based on Live for PC, when there's no Live for PC? Plus, add the fact that EA have released utter shit on PC for years. www.nbavg.org just became a whole lot more relevant.

Great news for all PC players. But im a bit annoyed with myself. I bought a 360 five months ago, only to play the NBA 2k series, and now its coming to PC
Guess ill have to pick up 2 copies of the game (assuming the PC version is mod-able)

We should buy the game for the PC so that we can prove to publishers that this platform is indeed one that is worth distributing games to.
Everyone go buy the game when it comes out!! I'll be there.

LOL. . .EA should have seen this coming

has been a decade that NSLC with excellen patchers support EA but in reply turn out to be negative and I believe its time for Andrew change his direction this year make this site base on 2k9.

YOU CANT SEE IT BUT I AM HUMPING THE AIR RIGHT NOW!!!!
My new 3.16 dual core and 2 count them 2 8800GTS 512MB cards will be put to good use!!! I don't want to get to excited you never know how it will turn out. So is the 360 version as good as the PS3 version? Since the 360 can't use blu-ray so they have to have less?
Another thing, Only $20? is it a lesser version the 360/PS3? This sounds to good to be true. I mean EA releasing a roster update/buggy game for $40 every year then this comes for $20?

The ps3 version and the xbox360 will be virtually the same.
The ps3 has bluray, yes, but no game on ps3 has yet utilized the benefit of it yet, and probably won't for a few years from what i can tell.

How about extra content, bigger games and HD videos during gameplay?
Most games on the PS3 are way bigger than anything you can fit on a DVD. MGS4 alone has to install 5 gigs on the PS3. Just like the PlayStation and N64. N64 cartridges held 64MB. PS CD's over 650MB give or take. So the 64 version would get scaled down. They have already and even more so in the future leave things out of the 360 version just to fit the games on the DVD's. The only way the 360 can advance is to come out with games on multiple DVD's and install game content on the 360. Much like you do with a PC game. But I agree. I bet it is not less than the PS3 version. I doubt 2K9 is bigger than 7 gigs or whatever a game DVD is.
PS3 FTW

2K Admin Ron wrote:The "new information" news, if you read what I wrote, was that it was a 360 port (meaning it will have most of the 360 features and graphics) and I gave you the release date, neither of which were known previously. This press release hasn't been sent out yet, I was given permission to let you know before the media did.
I hope it has all the features.

It can't have Xbox Live connectivity.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over that. As long as the gameplay and features are all the there....

Sorry, not happening. This is the NBA Live Series Center and will remain that way. However, we do welcome 2K players with this section and if NBA2K9 PC is patchable we will certainly consider our options but we are not becoming a 2K site.

I don't thinks Andrew will lose his faith against NBA Live and immediately throw his role in this community into danger. You Andrew, i'm sure, will be changing your thoughts about NBA Live and not this year but next year if 2K series continue, you will seriously think about turning this website into NBA 2K related website. This is business you know.

HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Is there a demo for pc???
NOTE: SUPPORT AND BUY GENUINE ORIGINAL GAMES

I doubt it. I'm looking forward to NBA Live 09 and while I do not think NBA2K is a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, it is not a viable alternative for me as I greatly dislike Isomotion and my experience with various 2K titles has not persuaded me it's the perfect game that everyone makes it out to be. This is the NBA Live Series Center, and it will remain that way.

Shadowrun allowed pc users to play xbox users, so it could, but likely won't.

So theres no chance of making a 2k section of this site because you don't like isomotion?
What if I propose to you that nba-live.com stays the same, but nlsc opens up an independent nba2k site?
Tue Sep 30, 2008 6:10 pm
guys, let's wait and see what they end up with and what can be done with that stuff! may be it wouldn't be editable or perfect so there would be no need in patches! or they've been just jokeing?!
