i got it running on a c2d e6750, 2gig ddr800 and a radeon 4870 1gig. runs at 1920x1200 with all detail settings maxed out and all AA&AF settings set to highest in catalyst control center. works like a charm, no slowdowns whatsoever...and it looks gorgeous! and overall i wouldn´t consider my machine a high-end one(most expensive thing was the new graphics card which was 230€, and one could certainly spend more on things like this). what i want to say is, i think 2k really did a good job on this port from a performance standpoint as the game looks and runs better than any sports game i´ve played on pc so far.

According to BigD14 who uploads videos in 2K forums, the game flows great with his system. He uses Ultra-High settings for "Player Details". So that he can see all those uniform movements.
He has:
Core 2 Duo E6850
2 GB Physical Memory @ 800 MHZ
512 MB ATI HD 3650

Do you know how a HD 3650 video card is?
It gives less performance than an 8600 GT.

please read bro ;)

@beatboxer

HD 3650 is way better than the performance of a 8600gt ;)

Samsung 80gb 7200rpm SATA 3Gb/s
Inno3D GF8600GT 1024 MB DDR2 128bi

thx :D

8600 gt runs fine. With memory so cheap these days though, I'd upgrade to 2GB or even 4. It'll run on low-mid settings pretty well.

What's a 4400? If that's a prior generation Nvidia, then you have to be kidding. That's 6 generations removed from today.

Nvidia GTX series
9000 series
8000 series
7000 series
6000 series
5000 series

I'm surprised that video card renders this forum properly. How many frames per second are you getting while typing?

He means TI 4400. Man. Those old days. TI 4400s were even better than a Nvidia FX 5200 and Ati 9250. They were almost the same quality as a FX 5500.

Anyways. As you can see in the minimum requirements, the game requires minimum an Ati x1300 or Nvidia 6600. If you are able to buy a Nvidia 7000 series or Ati x1300+ series video card, you can run the game with minimum to medium details.

for graphics slot, google "cpu-z" and run that little program. in the mainboard tab you´ll see it under graphic interface.

for the power supply i don´t know if there´s a program, but you can always check inside the psu itself, the amount of watts it supplies should be somewhere on it.

For the PSU, take a look at the case interior and see what is written on one side of your PSU. There should be written total wattage amount.

I just bought a Sapphire Radeon HD 2600 XT to replace my old ATI X300 online this morning for $67 US, ($96 AU) including shipping. Can't wait to test it out for 2k9~

Probably the best solution. I've been there before, trying to put the latest technology into an old dinosaur. It doesn't work and it ain't pretty. In the end, it's a waste of money putting a good video card into a system with a crappy CPU.

I just built a machine for $650 that should run this game at max settings. Think about it, a $650 quad core w Radeon 4850 vs. $399 for a piece of s*t PS3. Duh.

planbzimp: The 2600xt is a very good video card for older systems. I was gonna use it to upgrade my Pentium 2.8ghz dinosaur and then I just said screw it. My cpu would have bottlenecked that card.

lol at paypal for not passing through the transaction and they ended up refunding my potential 2600 XT. So this afternoon I went to the local hardware store to check out some of their graphic cards. The only Radeon cards they had were 3650 and 3850. But i went for the cheapest deal which was Nvidia 9500 GT for $80 bux (even cheaper than my online order for 2600XT.

I read that 9500 GT has almost identical performance with the older 8600 GT. I hope new updates will give 9500GT performance boosts to play 2k9 on higher settings.
