Nice. Well, everything on that list is nice. EA definitely needs to pay attention here.

I just don't understand how EA can't make that game run smooth. . . I just can't belive how they are satisfied with the robot players they got!!!

The computer cheated, that's how they fuckin' won. . . .Do I need Xbox Live GOLD to get that patch?

Nah im guessing it'll be under Online Desk and you dont need Gold to access that...

Damn the shoe issue is annoying me, i updated the whole Nuggets team with the right accessories and go to play and like none of them have the away shoes on so there was no point really in doing all of that. This patch needs to hit 360 soon. :(

Howdy folks. I know most of you guys are antsy for the patch, so I thought I'd provide you with a quick overview of what is going on and what changes you can expect in the patch. MS is going to release this information on their site once the patch gets released, but here is an overview.

The NTSC PS3 patch will be hitting first (should be this week actually). This will be followed shortly thereafter by the PAL/NTSC patches for the 360. Finally, the PAL PS3 patch will come after that. I don't have hard dates for you guys, this stuff all changes on a whim.

Gameplay:

OTFC (On The Fly Coaching) Duping – There was an issue in the game where multiple players could be set to guard a single player simultaneously. We have isolated the cause of this and rectified the problem.

DPC and Offball (Online) – We inadvertently shipped the game with the DPC and Offball Control features disabled for online games. These features functioned properly in the offline version of the game. For this patch, they have been enabled for use in online.

Online Free Throw Issue – There was an online issue where the first free throw would essentially drop out of the sky (due to framerate issues) and the user would always miss it. This issue has been addressed.

Layup Strips – We have tuned layup strips to happen at a more frequent rate. They weren’t firing off as much as we wanted.

Layup % - Based on consumer feedback, users should notice an increase in the percentage of layup / close to the basket shots made. We felt that solid players were missing too many “gimmies”.

Layup Holes – There were some layup holes which would cause players to shoot jumpshots into the bottom of the rim right underneath the basket. These holes have been identified and fixed.

Layup Removal – The 360 circus layup was removed from the game. Consumers felt strongly that this layup didn’t fit the scope of our gameplay.

Mirrored Plays – We now mirror plays in appropriate situations to minimize crossing. This removes a lot of clutter that was occurring during the setup of plays.

Up-and-Under – The up-and-under mechanic shipped with the game did not work as intended. It should now be functioning properly.

Fadeaway Shot Fix – We identified and fixed the issue where players would shoot unwanted fadeaways after catching the ball on occasion.

Hop Step Cheese – The Hop Step was identified as a huge “cheese” exploit by our online consumers. Players will now lose the ball on occasion if they attempt to exploit this move.

Pump Fake Breakout – We now allow the ballhandler to exit the pump fake animation early to improve their ability to drive around the faked out defender.

Lock-On D – Changes to the mechanic were made in an effort to fix odd defender movements. Big men should be less effective as well when using this feature.

Defensive Player Reaction – Player reactions on defense have been minimized in an effort to mimic more realistic behaviors.

Spinout/UB Dunk Exploits – Fixes were implemented for the Post Spinout and UB (Under Basket) Dunking exploits that were identified by our consumers.

3 In The Key – Our ‘3 In The Key’ violation timer has been adjusted to be a little less forgiving. Keep your guys moving!

Queued Passes – There was a bug where queued passes would fail when certain isomotion moves were executed. The animations in question have been addressed such that the passes work properly.

Double Team Exploit – Changes were implemented to prevent users from exploiting double teams. They should no longer be the strategy of choice for online players.

General:

Shoe Editing Issue – Shoe colors should no longer change when a player is edited. The patch will not revert any previously changed shoe colors, it will only prevent it from happening again in the future.

Intentional Fouls – There was an issue in the game where when you complete a game in NBA Blacktop mode, the feature would autosave and essentially autosave the street settings. When you attempted to play in a quick game, Intentional Fouls would not be called even though the violation was being committed. We have identified and corrected the issue.

Standing Dunk – Users were unable to edit/change the Standing Dunk attribute. It was viewable in the roster menus, but unable to be changed via Edit Player. This attribute has been added to the list of editable attributes.

Lobby Pings – There was an issue where if a lot of people are in a lobby, lobby pings would be reported inaccurately. This issue has been addressed.

Replay Cursor Toggle – The replay cursor can now be toggled on/off in replay by pressing the LB+RB (360) triggers simultaneously. This is just a little bonus for you guys creating videos via replay mode.

Other - There are numerous other minor changes as well that you should notice by playing through the game (Playoff Wipes during playoff games is one that comes to mind). As you play through the game, you will surely notice them.

Enjoy, the game plays a lot nicer
!

This is real good news!!!!

I have the patch. To download it just start the game and it will say something like "Would you like to download Patch 1.10?" and then it downloads itself. Its only 57MB. The game plays SO much better.

BTW: I'm thinking of starting an accociation, should I choose the Lakers or the Bucks?

Wed Dec 05, 2007 12:08 am

I dont know how difficult it is to play with one guy in 2k8, but I like team play a lot more. So you may choose the Bucks and if your team struggles you can use Michael Redd in a Kobe like way :)

Bogut and Yi are also quite cool and dont forget about Desmond Mason and Mo Williams.

--> Bucks

Im looking forward to Xmas and gettin my PS 3 + 2k8, I hope its worth it.

Nah man, im not in a league... And yeah that first match was frantic... Lucky it was equal when it disconnected though, so no one was at a disadvantage...

As for Gears i dont know what to say man... You said you haven't played in a while right? It'd been about 35 days since i'd last played and it showed

Thu Dec 06, 2007 3:16 pm

Yeah Gears i havent played in like a year and it defiantly showed lol i was so confused what was happening in result i got owned almost everytime although i started to get some good kills near the end!

Yeah for sure, but i hope we dont get those gay Connection Errors if some American NLSC's join... And i need that league game and draft achievement and i've got them all...

Fri Dec 14, 2007 1:50 pm

The patch has finally arrived for the 360!!!! The game defiantly feels different in a good way, i seem to enjoy it more now than before the patch was released. I can finally start my Association :D

Fri Dec 14, 2007 3:08 pm

Anybody finding that there is shitloads of trades when you do an Association. Stupid trades too. Like Bogut being traded for Cassell, even though Mo Williams was almost averaging a triple double. Heaps of big names being sent around the league, several players being traded two or three times. Might have to turn off CPU trades to keep some realism.

do they not have an option to accept or decline each CPU trade?!? that would be an alright option, if you had choice to veto any trades like that Bogut one....

good to hear you guys got the patch....I just picked up College Hoops 2k8....from what I've read around the place, it will need a patch like NBA2k8 to fix up a few bugs....but yep, looking forward to getting possibly a Vanderbilt legacy rolling, led by Aussie Andrew Ogilvy

Sat Dec 15, 2007 8:56 pm

Yeah i had alot of big trades happening early in the season when i simmed through a season.

when i finally started my real season i turned cpu trades off for now then iam gonna turn them back on a week before the trade deadline.

Sean Marks dominating you is not a sign of inability to play defence, but the sign of his skills :P

You got schooled by Willy Wonka!?!?

I am buying a PS3 this week since I am getting 2K8 for x-mas. I had a 60GB ordered off amazon for $638. I decided to cancel and am just going to go buy a 80GB (only plays 80% of PS2 games or something like that) for $500 and It comes with a game.

Mon Dec 17, 2007 5:44 am

Bought mine today (PS3 and 2k8), but Ima have to w8 til xmas and then start playing :)

Im really excited (may sound like a freak, but I have NEVER played 2k8, have been a live player since 97 ... so this will be a huge change)

Mon Dec 17, 2007 6:10 am

Don't worry hova, it will be a huge change but for the better.
