Yep, played nba 2K8... wat pissed me off most was the inability to play defence... but it was the first time I ever played the game so I guess I was impressed about it. It's not perfect but it's fun to play and has a nice 'feel' to it! (Y)

Sean Marks dominating you is not a sign of inability to play defence, but the sign of his skills :P

Since I dont know any good 2K8 forums I need a few things cleared up about the next gen version.

1. Does anyone have a missing player list, if not can somebody tell me the biggest players missing?

2. Is there anywhere I can find a place where I can view all the teams rosters and overall ratings from the game?

3. Can jersey numbers be edited this year?

4. Can someone gimme a lowdown on the next gen CAP mode for this years game? In CAP mode is there a potential attribute that can be set?

5. What are the new buttons this year that have to be used and are they difficult to get used to?

Good 2k8 forum is operation sports, which has lots of CAP's and slider info etc. Best place I have found.

from ntcs ps3 to pal ps3 shouldn't be a problem since it's all region free I'd say....

Sat Nov 24, 2007 5:32 pm

Yeah that what i thought but the saves i had from the ntsc version wont show up on the load screen but there in my saved data folder.

Sat Nov 24, 2007 6:14 pm

Nope. This is actually the reason I bought Live this year.

good luck with it though....I got NTSC PS3 from Japan, but figured that they'd all be the same....

So now with the PS 3 gettin cheaper and cheaper I decided to buy one for christmas ... do you thinks its worth it ?
I mean I was like the Ps3 is better than the 360 but it has always been way more expensive. Now I can get the PS3 for 400-450 euros.

Is there a difference playing 2k8 ? Or just the same ?

Mon Nov 26, 2007 2:26 am

Its the same...

I also was thinking of getting a 360 in time for the release of live 08 and 2k8 put after all the horror storys of 360's breaking i went with the ps3 and yes the price is falling which is even better!

Mon Nov 26, 2007 9:26 pm

i have a ps3, its awesome. 8-)

are there supposed to not be player introductions? because my game shows the t-mobile lineup then they go to jump ball.

GAMETRACK ISSUE

Tue Nov 27, 2007 8:13 pm

Yes I have a problem too.

I play 12 minutes a qtr with a friend (HUMAN VS HUMAN)
(Full 48 minutes game.)
XBOX 360 with 120Go Hard Drive.

When we play in exhibition game mode, no problem. The game wrap up and the game track works just fine.
(I have all the replays from the first one in the first qtr, to the last one in the fourth.)

But sometimes in season, for some reason, the game track is just erased from the hard drive once the final buzzer sounds... So it seems to be.

So the Game wrap up could not work properly, since it has only the 10 or the last 5 replays (gametrack) to deal with.

What should I do to get this gametrack back completely ?

During the season, I have changed the minutes allowed for my team in the Gameplan menu...

Any Ideas ?

Patch coming!

From the Assistant Producer...posted over on OS.

Howdy folks. I know most of you guys are antsy for the patch, so I thought I'd provide you with a quick overview of what is going on and what changes you can expect in the patch. MS is going to release this information on their site once the patch gets released, but here is an overview.

The NTSC PS3 patch will be hitting first (should be this week actually). This will be followed shortly thereafter by the PAL/NTSC patches for the 360. Finally, the PAL PS3 patch will come after that. I don't have hard dates for you guys, this stuff all changes on a whim.

Gameplay:

OTFC (On The Fly Coaching) Duping – There was an issue in the game where multiple players could be set to guard a single player simultaneously. We have isolated the cause of this and rectified the problem.

DPC and Offball (Online) – We inadvertently shipped the game with the DPC and Offball Control features disabled for online games. These features functioned properly in the offline version of the game. For this patch, they have been enabled for use in online.

Online Free Throw Issue – There was an online issue where the first free throw would essentially drop out of the sky (due to framerate issues) and the user would always miss it. This issue has been addressed.

Layup Strips – We have tuned layup strips to happen at a more frequent rate. They weren’t firing off as much as we wanted.

Layup % - Based on consumer feedback, users should notice an increase in the percentage of layup / close to the basket shots made. We felt that solid players were missing too many “gimmies”.

Layup Holes – There were some layup holes which would cause players to shoot jumpshots into the bottom of the rim right underneath the basket. These holes have been identified and fixed.

Layup Removal – The 360 circus layup was removed from the game. Consumers felt strongly that this layup didn’t fit the scope of our gameplay.

Mirrored Plays – We now mirror plays in appropriate situations to minimize crossing. This removes a lot of clutter that was occurring during the setup of plays.

Up-and-Under – The up-and-under mechanic shipped with the game did not work as intended. It should now be functioning properly.

Fadeaway Shot Fix – We identified and fixed the issue where players would shoot unwanted fadeaways after catching the ball on occasion.

Hop Step Cheese – The Hop Step was identified as a huge “cheese” exploit by our online consumers. Players will now lose the ball on occasion if they attempt to exploit this move.

Pump Fake Breakout – We now allow the ballhandler to exit the pump fake animation early to improve their ability to drive around the faked out defender.

Lock-On D – Changes to the mechanic were made in an effort to fix odd defender movements. Big men should be less effective as well when using this feature.

Defensive Player Reaction – Player reactions on defense have been minimized in an effort to mimic more realistic behaviors.

Spinout/UB Dunk Exploits – Fixes were implemented for the Post Spinout and UB (Under Basket) Dunking exploits that were identified by our consumers.

3 In The Key – Our ‘3 In The Key’ violation timer has been adjusted to be a little less forgiving. Keep your guys moving!

Queued Passes – There was a bug where queued passes would fail when certain isomotion moves were executed. The animations in question have been addressed such that the passes work properly.

Double Team Exploit – Changes were implemented to prevent users from exploiting double teams. They should no longer be the strategy of choice for online players.

General:

Shoe Editing Issue – Shoe colors should no longer change when a player is edited. The patch will not revert any previously changed shoe colors, it will only prevent it from happening again in the future.

Intentional Fouls – There was an issue in the game where when you complete a game in NBA Blacktop mode, the feature would autosave and essentially autosave the street settings. When you attempted to play in a quick game, Intentional Fouls would not be called even though the violation was being committed. We have identified and corrected the issue.

Standing Dunk – Users were unable to edit/change the Standing Dunk attribute. It was viewable in the roster menus, but unable to be changed via Edit Player. This attribute has been added to the list of editable attributes.

Lobby Pings – There was an issue where if a lot of people are in a lobby, lobby pings would be reported inaccurately. This issue has been addressed.

Replay Cursor Toggle – The replay cursor can now be toggled on/off in replay by pressing the LB+RB (360) triggers simultaneously. This is just a little bonus for you guys creating videos via replay mode.

Other - There are numerous other minor changes as well that you should notice by playing through the game (Playoff Wipes during playoff games is one that comes to mind). As you play through the game, you will surely notice them.

Enjoy, the game plays a lot nicer!

Wow the patch looks awesome and it fixes pretty much all the issues, this is why 2k sports owns EA sports, they take feedback into consideration and are quick to fix the problems. I just wonder now how fast they can release this patch, im gonna hold off doin a dynasty until its released.

Thu Nov 29, 2007 9:53 pm

Is the game track issue (game wrap up bug) fixed ?

Thu Nov 29, 2007 11:37 pm

Do I have to pay for playing 2k or other games online with a ps3, or is this only the case for xbox owners ?

PS3 is totally free.

XBOX 360 is for free only the first month WITH EACH USER. So, if you create a new user monthly...

Nice. Well, everything on that list is nice. EA definitely needs to pay attention here.

WOW I might actually play my playoff again. . . I never been so mad playing a series. Couldn't even hit SHIT, not even make a layup while the computer was scoring with ease. . .I lost in the East Finals 4-2. The computer cheated, that's how they fuckin' won. . . .Do I need Xbox Live GOLD to get that patch?
