There is another site though that took that course (in a good way) nbalive.org => nbavg.org

it's official http://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185970
Basketball will be coming to your computers this year. Many of you have already seen that NBA 2K9 will be released on the PC on various sites, and I wanted to confirm that. The extra bit of news, however, is that the game will be a XBOX 360 port. It will be released October 21st in PC gaming stores everywhere. Feel free to discuss!

Been years since I posted here. But all you modders out there I would love to see some work on the 2k series. No fanboy here. I just want to enjoy a basketball game like I did Live 2000, which was the most modded game of all time not?

So I hope that all you PC gamers buy 2k9 and we can get to work making the game customizable.

Peace,
J.R.

Wow, haven't been here in a minute. I'm excited to see what patching can be done on 2k9. Should be fun, it'll be almost like when the first nba live pc game came out and people were making up all these crazy tools. Should be a fun time again.

I just saw the confirmation today and thought of this place first. I read it was going to be only $20 bucks too.

whatsup fellas. (Y)

If I need to establish my "cred" on this. I haven't spent a year playing any of the games though, just a couple hours. I also haven't played Live 09 so I'm giving it benefit of the doubt.)

I'm not saying they're good or better than the 2K series, but I think they're trying a lot harder than they did after Live 2005 on last gen. Footplanting and DNA are good pursuits, etc.

It's like this: On current gen, I respect what they're trying and the game is playable. (Now.) Last gen, it's completely broken and a piece of trash.

Who mentioned cred? The current gen is going downhill just like it was in the previous generation. The footplanting made no impact whatsoever. To say its playable is vague considering it's a videogame. Any game is technically playable. The thing is, for all the nice abstract features, the gameplay is still horrible. For example, in the 09 demo, I was using Boston and KG got an offensive rebound and Kobe, who was right next to him continued to guard Ray Allen off the ball as Garnett went up for an uncontested dunk.

Guess we don't need this thread anymore. Feel free to express your excitement in the open thread, and use this section for any NBA2K topics in general. :)
