NBA 2K9 PC Patch has now been Released!

Will the shoes problem be fixed if I install the shoes patch after the update? I'm still contemplating whether or not I should update my game due to the minor glitches.

Use Jimmys roster and the Shoe patch and everything is fine with the patch.

So just changing the shoe fixes the glitch. It wasn't as serious as I thought. Though not backing down is a bitch. Still, those new dunk packages are sick.

First of all I would like to say that this is the best basketball game for PC ever! I haven´t played so many games and enjoyed so much since NBA Live 2005 (never had consoles, only PC). Off course 2k9 is way way better!
I don´t dish 2k sports so much as others because I never had a so good bball game in my PC.

Now about the game and the patch itself. Firstly I have to say that I had a pirated version of 2k9 but patch came out, heard people talking great things about it, and I really wanted so I bought the game to show 2K some love and credit (here in Portugal the game is 30€, is not too much but it´s kind of sad not having online mode) and expect a 2k10 for PC too.

First I think it should be released a note with the changes done with the patch to be able to make a better review of it. I think in terms of gameplay it seems better though now it needs to be tweaked again, due to the changes, because it was already tweaked before for better gameplay.
The end of lag in free throw is much appreciated but (not sure about this one) it seems to lag a bit when the cam zooms the key (don´t think it happened before patch). And the goaltending issue seems to be gone too. I do think they should have done a better job with the new players portraits specially the rookies that came originally in the game.

Another thing I´ll talk about it´s the backing down, I understand what 2K Sports wanted to accomplish with the tweak they made. Not every player should be able to back down (little payer guarded by bigger one) but I think the way they´ve done is quite wierd because we´re pushing the button and the player just stands still dribbling and sometimes we can´t dribble the ball back and he grabs the ball, it seems quite irresponsive gameplay. It seems like we back down randomly even with a big player being guarded by a smaller one. Now guards don´t back down which is a shame there are guards that back down very well as Kobe for example. I think it should be like before the patch, we could see the backing down animation but the offensive player, if not having phisical advantage enough over his defender, wouldn´t gain the space, hope you know what I mean, it would seem way better.

I can´t say for sure if I´m satisfied with the patch, don´t know if I prefer gameplay with or without the patch because with patch its quite different. And I already had nba 2k9 good to play but with patch things need to be tweaked and unfortunely patchers like Albys and Makia don´t like the patch so they don´t make their rosters based on the official after patch. And now shoes colours are all wrong.

Finally I would like 2k sports would launch another patch, at least after the transaction deadline, to have a updated roster, real portraits for everyone (don´t think is that hard to make, or at least tell how to put them in game permanently without using texmod), updated courts (not that important), all jerseys unlocked or tell how to unlock them and some tweaks to the gameplay specially the backing down thing.

In terms of performance, my rig is not a monster (LG laptop, T7500 Intel C2D 2.20 Gh, 2Gigs RAM, NVIDIAGeforce 8400M G 128 mb VRAM), but I can play it with a steady 30 frames with VSYNC ON, player medium, texture high, reflection and depth of field on and everything else off or low at a resolution of 1024x640 or at 848x480 with player ultrahigh. With OC, can play at 1280x800 same first settings or at 1024x640 with player ultrahigh.

i reinstalled the game and i dont have dunk 2.0's.....lebron's dunk is set to dunk 5.....any suggestions?

it's a fresh install of the game...i believe if it's a fresh install it will automatically come with the update.
