hi. i'm having problems with my substitution by rotation. i play 5 minute quarters, hall of fame difficulty.
i've set my substitution to --- rotation instead of fatigue. the "substitution by fatigue" lets bench players play too small minutes. i've tried it and the computer doesn't use ginobilli until the last part of the 2nd quarter.
i'm always oriented to making the game more realistic so i want to imitate the real-life rotations. but i don't like manually substituting while in-game. i let the computer do all the lineup and substitutions
my problem is in the 4th quarter. computer always uses a lineup of parker at pg, ginobilli at sg, finley @ sf , duncan at center and -------bruce bowen at Power forward????? this happens everytime i play.
i know small lineups have became a trend in the NBA but i don't really think the spurs do this in real life. bruce is an excellent defender but when against good forwards like gasol, nowitzki, garnett, do you think popovich would let bowen play against them at this crucial part of the game? he's giving up too much height. i was hoping computer would use bowen at PF only when matched up against a smaller power forwards or small lineup of other team.
my point is in REAL LIFE pop would use a front court (pf+ sf+ c) of bowen ( for defense at sf) finley (for offense @ sf) then another bigman along side duncan, thomas (best choice for defense) or oberto or maybe bonner (if they need 3 pt shooting).
BOTTOMLINE : how can i prevent auto substitution( by rotation) to use bowen at power forward in the 4th quarter? is there a way to do this even when i don't manually substitute players?
i've tried to check the player positions of my possible front court players
bowen sf/sf
k.thomas c/pf
duncan pf/c
oberto c/pf
bonner pf/pf
finley sg/sf
as you can see bowen is a pure SF so i don't get why he can play PF. i don't think the team has a shortage of power forwards with oberto in the starting lineup, k.thomas, bonner off the bench. i've tried setting both kurt thomas and oberto to pure C/C(center) hoping bonner would play at PF in the 4th quarter, but the computer still used duncan at center and bowen at PF.
i've always liked 2k9's substitution pattern compared to nba live's. 2k9 switches players to their secondary position to accomodate bench players. i mean in NBA live, if duncan is a starting PF, even if his secondary position is center, he will be used as a PF whole game. so 2k9 is better in this part.
i've manually set my rotation minutes. this is how my rotation configuration looks like. this is the exact order
pg-parker 36 minutes
sg-finley 22 minutes
sf-bowen 23 minutes
pf-duncan 35 minutes
c-oberto 18 minutes
ginobilli 30 minutes
k.thomas 20 minutes
mason 16 minutes
udoka 16 minutes
bonner 13 minutes
g.hill 12 minutes
vaughn 1 or 5 minutes (i forgot)
thanks.
