how do you trade multiple players?

since the pc version doesn't have the living rosters feature (booo 
), i'm just left with either downloading updates manually or executing the trades myself.
i was trying to do the iverson trade by myself (him for 3 pistons) but can't because the game requires the teams to "keep 12 players on their roster".
can't release to free-agent pool as well because of this constraint.
anybody?
