That 4870 with 1gb. memory isn't needed for medium resolutions such as 1280*1024. So if you have a 17" LCD, you will not be able to set resolution above 1280*1024. Then go buy a 4870 with 512mb. memory and invest your money to suitable hardwares.
BTW, you will also need a minimum of 500 - 560 watt PSU to get the maximum performance and stability. Do not forget to choose known and quality brands for the PSU.
yes,yes, i'm buying lg 22'' monitor... first i thought about 512mb radeon, but they recommended me this because of my wish of playing on high resolutions and 22 inches monitor.
