How do you personally play Season/Association mode

Postby TC#10 on Sun Nov 02, 2008 1:57 am

The question is: How do you preferably play season/association mode?

Do you follow what's going on in the real world and make the trades/free agent signings in the game according to what they do in real life? Or do you allow the CPU to make fantasy trades which means the cpu interacts with you and the other teams making trades to better it's own teams?

For me, i try to play the season/association mode as realistic as how the real life NBA is, i make the same trades teams in real life do if they acquire a particular player and so forth.

ChillBally, click the Image icon at the upper right of the post and we will take care of it. No need to make a post.

I don't try to emulate the NBA, but I do get influenced by it. In a coincidental way, I actually influenced the NBA in 2K8. After my first season, I could not sign Elton Brand, so I didn't. I ended up giving more touches to Kaman and Thornton, similar to the Clippers last year. I also got a trade for Marcus Camby before the Clippers ever signed him. Man was he sick. The first game with him and Kaman up front, I held the Celtics to 68 points. I tried to get Baron Davis after hearing about his signage, but the Warriors were very stingy. I realized it was because I was in a race with them for the Pacific Division title, and Baron was an MVP candidate, so even with a insanely lobsided trade they would not accept it. I ended up playing them in the last game of the season that decided the division winner. The game went to overtime, guess who won? I guess it goes a bit both ways.

Cool, so i guess you guys let the cpu do trades among themselves and not do trades for them according to what's going on in real life.

By any chance, is there any way that the rotations i set for each team before I start a season/association will be implemented over the course of the season/association? Like in real life Amir Johnson is starting for the Pistons so before i started a season/association mode i set the Detroit's rotation to this, but when I play against the pistons in my season/association mode, they have Jason Maxiell Starting instead...
