NBA 2k9 for PC Review

I got the game today and after 4 hours of testing and playing, here is my 2 cents review.

I hate to admit it but in comparison to Live, it has it's plus and negatives.

The plus; better graphic, better AI, better moves and animations after plays, accurate time out calling and substitutions, support for wide screens w/ several options for resolution, twice the options for camera views, way more options to edit players with the inclusion of player and coach tendency. More options for play calling.

The negatives; menu appers to have some bug problems as it is very slow and some things on menu don't appear to work. You have to sub on the court and not able to go into menu to sub which is confusion. Menu for sub is either bug and not working or I haven't learn how to use it yet. Sometimes the players does animation moves that aren't necessary causing you to have less control of the players. The "dunk/layup" button does not exit which is very annoying as you'red limited to a "shoot" button only. Signature shoot is limited. Most player does a stand shot which is annoying as they aren't able to make shoots in motions or quick releases. But the most annoying thing is that you can only have up to 8 user teams in season or association mode. This is stupid as I perfer to be able to control and play all teams and will likely prevent me from putting much effort into this game unless we find a way to increase it.

They don't want you using the shot button. Use the shot stick. With the shot stick you can decide how you want to perform a layup, with either a finger roll, a floater, or to the left or right hand. Using the shot stick in motion will give you leaning and fading shots. Using the shot stick allows you to change your layup in midair.

As I've stated before, 2K9 is a sophisticated game (control wise) you must learn how to use the controls properly before judging it. There is no "Shoot Button" because they want you to use a shot stick (as pdub said). Its more innovative and and benefits a player who mastered the controls more. The adjustments that can be made with shot stick are almost limitless! 2K9 is a basketball SIM, I repeat a sim. A single shot button would not do it justice

I havent see any bugs played 15 exhibition game with all teams,I rate this game 90/100 cut %10 coz 2k could have release this game last year and not let pc users wasting time with a crap like live 08.

K. So after 6 more hours of experimenting and updating my video driver, I am sold. This is probably the best basketball game to ever come on PC! I am throwing away all my Live versions and uninstalling Live 08, with all the dam upgrades we patched. This game is actually very good, once you get it to run smoothly. The menu is still annoying and lags but I can live with it. Some things on the menu don't appear to be working. For instance, adjusting min. in roster mood is messed up. You also can't rotate team box score in game mode. I'm also experiecing slow motion lag between quarters and when CPU shots free throw like everyone else is reporting.
