Where's the D ??

How do you play defense in this game? You can play good defense and still be issued fouls. How do you play defense without fouling in this game? It's very frustrating to watch the other team parade to the ft line on every call. All the fouls take away from the flow of the game. Is there any slider adjustments to fix this? Don't get me wrong, fouls are part of the game, but both teams shouldn't take what seems like 25-30 ft's a game.

So far I have been playing the game with a keyboard. And have been trying to beat the HOF level with default settings consistently. The little success I do experience comes with playing great D. Playing the keyboard though, the way the default key assignments appear to me as if I was guarding a player, at what direction I would like to put my hands.

And as far as I can tell they have laid out a pattern where you have to push a button with regards to where you want your hand to go. While on D, there is a button to hold your hands up high. A button try to swipe the ball high from the right and a button for left. 2 buttons to jumo right or jump left to slow down your opponent after a crossover, but this tends to get me eating the dust of the player I am trying to defend. And one button to swipe the ball. And finally, a separate button to intentionally foul an opponent.

So it is not as simple as Live where there in only one button to block, one button to swipe and one button to hold your position. Basically you have to react to the situation. If the player you are guarding is trying to shoot over you, you have to get your hands up. If he is trying to do a crossover, you can leap right or left. If he is coming at an angle, try to swipe it from high. And of course, if the opposing player does not seem like he is protecting the ball, you can try to swipe it.
YEAH BOY!

Average free throw attempts per game was around 25 last season. So you are close.

I suggest trying to diagnose where you are getting called for fouls in cases you believe you shouldn't be getting called for fouls, and adjust sliders according to your findings.

Good lookin out PDub. I just have a problem with defending really well and get called for fouls. However, the same doesn't hold true for the cpu. I'm finding defense is hard to play in this game. I can hang with the computer for about 2 qtrs, then all hell breaks loose and they wind up smoking me in the 2nd half. I just can't seem to keep up with the cpu, probably due to my lack of defense.
