Black Screen when game launches

Postby Cloudy on Sat Nov 08, 2008 8:53 pm

I am running the game on a laptop with an onboard graphics card. Intel 945 Mobile to be specific. I know that I will have to run it on the lowest quality. I have 2 gigs of RAM running Pentium Dual-Core 1.6...

I just downloaded the newest driver and Intel Graphics Accelerator but the game still won't load. I only get some menu buttons and sound, but the rest is just black.

I believe Vista comes with DirectX 10 already so I guess I am fine there.

Need help asap. Thanks in advance.

your graphic card isn't supported, that's the problem...and unfortunately no, you can't run it on lowest settings

Heck! Not even the menus?! Isn't there anyway to accelerate my card or do something to bypass the model-shader? This is very sad.

This game runs exclusively on machines with a graphics card that support Shader Model 3 (Pixel and Vertex Shader 3.0 and beyond). So if you don't meet the requirements you won't be able to run the game. The only way out is too buy a new graphics card, or in your case a new laptop (I'm on an Acer Aspire 4520, pretty cheap, and has a AMD Athlon 64 X2 @1600 Mhz (3200 Mhz), 160 Gb HD, 2 GB Ram, and a nice Nvidia 7000GS, maybe the worst graphic card to support this game, search it, it's economic and worth it.)

Damn it! :-x

I am deciding on gretting a really powerful desktop or the new MacBook Pro. Since I'll be working on graphics I think it'll be a good choice. The only problem now is its price tag and it's worthiness.
