Palettes and Perhaps Another ENB Series Release

Postby Cpt(K) on Mon Dec 24, 2012 1:15 pm

So I've been looking through my own ENB series and have come to a conclusion, which I feel has yielded some desirable results. I've been making use of more palettes lately and decided to experiment with ones I'd find across the internet. I have looked in the 2k threads for palettes or enb series that I could use effectively in this game. I must say that palettes with a perfect fit for this game have been eluding me, and I am open for suggestions. In fact, I would much appreciate any recommendations that you all may use in yours.

I do plan on releasing my other enb series, however, I am unsure of the original creator; I modified his/her enb series to my likening and I would like to credit them for their base.

Well, after looking at this one I had earlier, I decided I'd look some more. For some reason it is very bright, almost making shadows near invisible.

Then there's this one, which I am using the "resident evil 4" palette. I feel that it could be maybe a hint brighter, around the edges that is; the atmosphere it creates is too dark for me. I believe this has been the better one I've used so far.

Essentially I feel that this thread could be used for our fellow Live players to post their own configurations and screenshots if they'd like. I looked around the forum but didn't think it to be appropriate if I revived a nearly 1-3 year old thread(s).

EDIT: A temporary solution to some of the Palettes over-brightness would be to turn down the games brightness setting in the options menu. Mine is down to as little as 15.

Okay, so I went around a site and downloaded some palettes to try with Live 08. The link I clicked on provided me with 24 different Palettes to choose from. So after trying each of them I have some screenshots I would like to share.

The first Palette from the pack, used with NBA live 08.

This is the second Palette from the pack, used with NBA live 08.

Each of the Palettes have produced different results. I would like to put more emphasis on where I got these from by supplying the link: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=488840 here you will find many palettes and ENB series to play around with. I have found many to my likening that I'll be modifying to fit the game. Any recommendations will be accepted in regard to the palettes or an ENB series.

I would like to direct new users interested in these things to this site http://enbdev.com/index_en.htm which will provide you with the information to begin modifying your own ENB series.

EDIT: It's perfectly fine to reply to this thread, I only want others to reply with questions regarding the ENB series or palettes. A discussion of sorts, whilst sharing our custom ENB series and palettes.

Well, I personally would have expected a reply by now. However, I have also forgotten to mention other pieces which I feel would enhance Live 08 even more. I have been trying to decipher the "effects.txt" I have downloaded from enbdev.com it contained two versions, one in this "newer" format and another in the "older" format.

I'm not quite sure what these were for, I have looked on his site and gained some information regarding them. I have since tested them in the game, and have been attempting to customize them. They were affecting my frame rate quite a bit, and I had to experiment with values to try to get a feel for the effects. I have some screenshots, that I think are pretty good.

The effects.txt I downloaded and modified has substantially improved the quality of the game. The edges are smoother, much more than before.

The Quality of these screenshots has been slightly reduced because of the format, they originally look much smoother than this. In game, this appears much smoother than in these screenshots.

Appreciate the hard work and you sharing it, but you've got to remember it's the holiday season so people are off doing other things. A lot of people have moved on from NBA Live 08 as well, so you're not going to get as many responses as you once would have.
