EA Graphics Editor

Postby iamamac on Sun Feb 12, 2012 7:41 am

I'm using the latest EA Graphics editor eage104b. I convert bheds from .bmp to .fsh (The file is labelled correctly and everything), yet the cyberface doesn't show up ingame. Is there a tutorial for using this program or something, because I can't use FshX (429 error) and I want to convert bheds to ingame cyberface files (.fsh).

Here's what I do:
1. I open the bhed using the editor.
2. I save it as Electronic Arts Shape file (fsh).
3. Then a window with SHPI Properties pops up. The window has Header, Image Format, Palette, Transparency and Comperssion sections, each with different settings. I leave those settings as they are.
4. I go place the file into the sgsm folder. It is CORRECTLY LABELLED and IT DOES CONTAIN A CORRECT .DBF ENTRY. I'm 100% sure.
5. Then I launch the game and see that the player's cyberface is missing.

EAGE is an outdated tool and when it comes to NBA Live 08, really shouldn't be used for anything more than importing and exporting from .viv files. It's no longer suitable for working with .fsh files past NBA Live 2003 (or possibly NBA Live 2004).

I've tried FshX, but I'm getting a Run-time '429' error: ActiveX component can't create object.

I've also tried FshLine, but that doesn't work. There are no other Fsh editors. I really want to convert bheds to those .fsh files myself, but I guess I'll have to ask someone to make them :(.

FshX for Vista crashes without any notice. It's incompatible with wine (system used to run Windows applications on a Mac). The only ones that work are EA Graphics editor and FshEd, but I've no idea how to work with FshEd.
