Suggestions re: 2012 art updates & priorities

I posted this in ej17's thread but I felt it might be prudent to echo the sentiment in a separate thread, in the interest of making updates for the 2012 season as efficiently as possible.

It's great that we still have a few people making updates for the older PC versions of NBA Live, especially as the art is fairly easy to convert (or is straight up interchangeable) between NBA Live 2005, NBA Live 06, NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08, the games most people still playing Live tend to be using. I like that we're co-operative in these matters and willing to share our work, which greatly enhances projects like the NLSC update and of course TUP, eliminating the need to manually download a lot of updates for the new season.

To that end, I'd suggest that we all focus on creating what's missing or needs to be updated for the 2012 season. I feel that those are the updates that should be a priority at this time, especially with the season only days away. That's not to say other updates are unwelcome because there's always amazing stuff coming out, but I would suggest that if the existing update is already pretty good or even good enough for the time being, it would be better to focus on creating stuff that doesn't exist yet and updating things that have changed this year.

That's just my two cents, hopefully we can continue to do a good job keeping these old games alive. Fingers crossed for a patchable PC release of the 2013 NBA sim from EA, too. As always, a big thanks to the community for contributing art for the NLSC update, it is much appreciated. I'll try to get the art required list updated ASAP.

i completely agree... therefore i have suspended all other player updates and am focusing on all rookies.... we need to get this done with the season coming up so fast.... wish i had started earlier

I know I lost some enthusiasm for it during the lockout and I'd say that's the case for a few of us, not to mention other responsibilities.
