The game just crash whenever I shoot at the free throw line and after a timeout.

It's most likely patch related. Which updates do you have installed?

does it crash as you start your shooting animation? before the player gets to the free throw line? after the shot? is this a new crash? has it always been this way?

I think it caused by the overlays

I think you are missing transition logos. You need to have the transition logos - (teamabbreviation).fsh (example: atla.fsh). These logos are shown when you get to the free-throw line, and if they don't exist, the game will crash. You either need to download transition logos or make them (you can basically take the ball texture, copy it and rename it (teamabbreviation).fsh for every single team that needs transition logos - that what I do when I'm lazy and don't want to make transition logos ). See if that helps.

That's certainly possible, though there's no good reason why they should be missing though. Even if they're not present loose in the sgsm folder, they'd be in the appropriate .viv file.

Yeah, but if he created a new team, then transition logos are necessary. I've had this happen to me many times, and each time - transition logos are the culprit.

I just installed the game then installed the NLSC NBA Live 08 Current Roster Update 4.0 and http://download.nba-live.com/index.php?act=view&id=2805

4.0 is not the latest version and might have had some conflicts with the included 2x court patches. 4.1 shouldn't have any crashing issues though.
