29 Game Season in Dynasty Mode?

I am trying to play the Dynasty Mode in NBA Live 08 (PC) and in the options for the Schedule Type there are only 2 options : NBA and Regular....which are both 82 game seasons. Is there no way I can play the dynasty mode with only 29 games per season like previous versions of the game?

Dynasty mode is based on real NBA Games.. That means, a whole season of NBA includes 82 games

but they used to have 29 game dynasty mode seasons in NBA Live 06. Are the new changes radical?

How do you guys play the dynasty mode? Do you simulate all of the 82 games? doesnt it get boring? What things do you do to keep it fun?

bowdown, Hmmm, since i've experienced putting up my own Dyansty, all you need is people to follow and u ur self must enjoy it and think that its enjoyable.

Features of Live 08 is different from 06.. When I play dynasty mode I just simulate from 1st-3rd quarter and just play the 4th to make it exciting..Its not boring coz my roster is strong

Starting 5: C: Howard
PF: Lewis
SF: Turkgolu
SG: Carter
PG: Rondo

Reserve: Nelson, Deng, Odom, Pietrus, Gortat, Davis, Francis, Parker, Anderson, Curry

That option hasn't been available for Dynasty Mode since NBA Live 06. Unfortunately, we haven't found a viable workaround for that (so far as I know).

Suggestions for getting through an 82 game season - assuming you don't want to play all the games - including simply simming the games you're not interested in playing/feel you can win, alternating between playing and simming (say, play five, sim five) and using sim intervention to just play the fourth quarter. You could also play shorter quarter lengths if you wanted to get through 82 games quicker.

And there is another problem. I am using the NBA Live 08 Current Roster Update and with that Greg Oden and Lamarcus Aldridge are hitting 5-10 3pters a game combined....wth? Is it because of my new roster patch or was the original version doing the same for u guys?

In simulation? That'd be the broken sim engine of NBA Live 08. Nothing I've done in the NLSC update (if that's the one you're talking about) should cause them to do that in-game.

Oh. Well i wasnt taking a shot at your patch just asking. It is pretty sweet and thanks for that. So will adjusting the game sliders by looking at the game slider thread fix this sim problems?

No wonder why people call the Live series a load of crap. 08 looks the same as 06 and not only that they made the dynasty mode 82 games so playing all the games isnt really realistic for someone who doesnt have all teh time in the world. And simulation doesnt give you a realistic depiction of stats and results either.

No, you'd need to check out a sim engine fix like this one. No guarantee that everything will work properly though, NBA Live 08's sim engine is, as I said, broken. Adjusting the sliders won't help at all, they're strictly gameplay related.

Thank you to everyone. Good thing Live series doesnt get to be a monopoly anymore and 2K is giving it a run for its money because this game seems so lazily put together.

The PC version was definitely an afterthought through the last couple of releases. FIFA 11 is being ported from the 360 to the PC though, if future versions of NBA Elite are ported to the PC then I'd say they'll show a marked improvement over NBA Live 08.

But I have to say that NBA Live 07 definitely become a greater game after some patches. Enjoyed 07 more than 08 even with TUP 09 installed. Although I like 08 for the reason it has sig shots

Yes, NBA Live 07 too. I'd like to think that our community has been doing an outstanding job with the PC version for years now.

I had another question guys.. See Im trying to change my starting lineups in the dynasty mode but I cant figure out how to change the one that was brought in by default. Is there a way I can re arrange the Rosters? I know I can put people on inactive list but that screen doesnt let me move players within the playing rotation.

Ok. sorry but I have another question. When I am trying to draft rookies...There are only 3 rookies I can choose from and not the whole pool of 50 or so other people...is this supposed to be like that or is there another patch for that?

And also

I was thinking about the TUP updates that are around. Will they work the same as 08 is now or would the graphical demands of the game increase with those updates? Because my video card wont be able to handle too much more than what Live 08 gives.
Is TUP 10 more graphically demanding than TUP 09?

What you're seeing there are the three rookies the game suggests. By advancing to the next screen, you can view the entire pool of available players and pick whomever you want from the remaining players.
