Game crashes

I have this mod (LKL Live 09) that has lots of bugs and I'm fixing them. One of the bugs is the game crashes after I pause and look at players' stats or substitute. After I resume the game, it crashes without an error. I have a legitimate copy of NBA Live 08, which served well for many other patches that I've installed, so that's not it. What could the bug be?

If the mod includes custom menu art, they might be at fault. I'd suggest contacting the people responsible for the update.
