A Question for Live '08 PC Owners.

Tue Sep 08, 2009 2:40 am

So I originally opted to play a heavily modded Live 2005 in place of getting Live '08. At first I was pretty pleased with it, but I've come to realize that the game's gameplay itself is pretty outdated (no MLE signings, poor AI in dynasty mode, bad sim engine, etc.)

I played both Live '06 and '07 but I think I would still find Live 2005 much more enjoyable than those two. Considering I have never played Live '08, is anyone willing to give me a general summary of how the game plays in comparison to the other games? I've read about all the substitution and sim engine problems for the game, but are these problems correctable? Other than those problems, what other aspects of the game are better/worse than Live 2005?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I dont believe there is a solution for the sim engine

definite pluses are sig shots and the improved dunked on animations, and I personally love the star/superstar FSS moves happening automatically without a trigger button.

after a basket, inbounding the ball, with any player really, you can outrun the defense to their basket and score like a fast break pretty much every time, so you need to show some self control there. the shorts dont move like 2005, and patches have to use lower resolutions than 2005, usually about half resolution.

08 has the best potential to be the best Live PC game, but we need EA tools to fix it up, so, the big issues from when it was released still remain

That pretty much sums it up. You're probably better off sticking with 2005, 06 or 07 with all the issues in 08 that we haven't been able to truly address.
