The Portland Trail Blazers signed restricted free agent forward Paul Millsap to an offer sheet, it was announced Friday by General Manager Kevin Pritchard. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. The contract is believed to be worth $32-$36 million over four years.

Millsap is restricted free agent, right? Jazz will match this offer anyway, since they are trying to get rid of Boozer. Or was that just an example? If so, don't pay attention to my post.

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com is reporting that the Raptors are close to signing restricted free agent Jarrett Jack to an offer sheet.
If Jack signs with Toronto, the Pacers would have seven days to match the offer.

If the Jazz don't match the four-year, $32 million offer sheet backup power forward Paul Millsap signed Friday with Portland, they have at least one viable alternate option.

He's Boston Celtics restricted free agent power forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis, and he'd come to Utah without whining about big bucks.

Davis, a Louisiana State product, probably could be had for midlevel-exception money — a multiyear deal starting at $5.854 million, which is about $6 million less than Millsap would cost Utah next season.

"By all means we would be interested," Davis' agent, John Hamilton, said Saturday.

"This (Utah) was one of the teams that was very interested in him when he was coming out (of LSU in 2007), and in fact we thought he'd be drafted by them. So, absolutely: We'd be interested."

Boston may be willing to re-sign him, but Davis is seeking an offer sheet the Celtics might not match.

According to a league source, the Pistons turned down a trade offer that would have had them receiving Carlos Boozer from the Jazz for Tayshaun Prince. While the Pistons have long coveted Boozer, they recently signed free agent forward Charlie Villanueva, drafted forwards Austin Daye and DaJuan Summers, and have strong feelings for Prince.

Anyway, the Heat offering a contract to Odom just doesn't mean much; that person isn't on the team until the headline says finalized. So I hope Odom's agent shuts up and talks between Odom and the Lakers restart. Losing one key free agent (Ariza) because of his goofball agent was damaging enough.
