Online Play for PC?

My friend and I were looking to play each other in NBA Live 08 for PC, so we turned off all our firewalls and we are both used LAN connections. However, whenever one of use tries to host a game and the other tries to join we cant seem to connect. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks in advance

We both bought it

Could be a firewall issue. If you've got Norton or Trend Micro, I wouldn't be surprised if they're blocking the connection.
