Unable to Use Game (Live 08)

This is my first post on these forums so I'm hoping that this is an issue that you guys can help me with.

I have been playing LIVE 08 for a while and knew the game fairly well, didn't need the manual or the box it came in so I trashed them. Now I have a new computer (the old one was slow and barely usable) but when I went to install the game I was asked for the 16 digit registration code and I don't have the box or the manual with that info.

I'm not gonna shell out more money to buy a new copy of a game I already own, so I'm hoping you guys know of a way to find the code from the files on my old computer so that I can load the game onto my new one. If you can help me out that'd be great cause I really want to start up something in the Dynasty section but I can't even load the game at this point.

You need the manual with the code on it, there is no way to recover it legally. You can try your hand at the EA Support website, but any other way of getting the game to work will get you banned at these forums.

Why don't they put the code on the actual disc?

well, it cant be physically on the disc, because it is going to be in the computer when you need the code

and it isnt logical for it to be in a txt file on the disc because that screws up the mass production of the discs when they got made. much easier to make 1000000 of the same dvd rather than give each one a unique code

I sucked it up and bought a new version from Amazon for $9. Stupid 16-digit code *grumble*.

I'll start my Dynasty on the correct forum when I get my NEW disc for the game I've been playing for almost a year and a half.
