adding the 09 draftees

i've been trying to add the face patches for blake griffin and the other but it just does not seem to work.
plz help me n show me how to do it

There's a tutorial on installing face patches in the Wiki. You'll need to have created Blake Griffin and James Harden and saved the rosters first though, otherwise they won't be in the rosters to use the face patches.

Ok this is what i did
First I created the players and kept them in the free agency
then closed nba live
then added the face patches
started up nba live
loaded the roster
and the face patch did not work.

If someone can tell me what i did wrong please do.

You'll need DB Commander to open the dbf files. After that, it's a matter of locating the player in the database (the Find feature can help out there, Ctrl-F) and changing the values as specified by the Tutorial in the Wiki.

Just to stay in the same thread: I added the CF for the rookies that have been released at the moment but somehow when I add them, their body color changes to white, so now I have James Harden, Jordan Hill, Hasheem Thabeet etc. with white bodies. Anyone can help me with that?

Make sure you've changed their FACEID to -1 in appearance.dbf.

I've done that, that's what so strange about it. When I first added them I didn't have this problem but then I screwed up so I had to do it all over again and then this happened. If I have the time tonight or something I'll post a screen

My guess is that you've missed a step somewhere, so long as their skin colour attribute isn't incorrect there shouldn't be any problems. Did you remember to change their ISCREATED field to False?

I've checked it, to be sure.
But so far I've only added CF for Tyler Hansbrough, Blake Griffin and Hasheem Thabeet again. If I open appearance.dbf Tyler has COLOR (I presume this is skin color though) 0, Blake 1 and Hasheem 3
Still when I open up NBA Live 08, they all have a white skin.
I'll add someone else and see what happens with him.

Did you do the dbf editing during the offseason or at the start of a new season (after training camp)? If you did the dbf editing during the offseason, you'll encounter such problems as mentioned, sometimes causing the game to crash as well.

I can't explain why such things happen, but it happened to my dynasty as well when i added actual rookies during the offseason with head and body color mismatched, some even had height issues. Best bet is to do the editing only after the next season has begun.

If you like, just edit their names (offseason), take note of their respective player ids and then do the editing after the new season has commenced. It worked for me.

I didn't edit a Dynasty, I just edited a rosters file. I downloaded the TUP Mod and just created them.

I may be replying in the wrong thread but I just can't help asking this question re: your post. I'm having a problem with a specific player (Brandan Wright of GS) every time I play GS with any team, my game crashes. I found out the his CF is causing the issue. Can I edit his FaceID so he could have an EA CF rather than a custom CF? What .dbf should I edit and what should I input?

Note: I tried several custom made CF. (Your CF, Alby's & the latest one from the TUP MOD) but it's still not working. I guess my last resort would be to apply an EA CF for this player since he's not a big time player anyway.

You should be able to do that. You'd also need to make sure his ISCREATED field is set to True.

Weird that you're getting a crash there though, that doesn't happen for me.
