setting default controller config

Postby teddyboy09 on Mon Oct 13, 2008 11:59 pm

is it possible for us to seta default controller config? because i keep changing it from Genric to my own setting everytime; sometimes I forget it so when I start a game I lose on the jump ball (or when I start after halftime in dynasty I nearly or even sometimes get called for 5 seond violations lol).

I even tried opening Generic.jfg and my own setting, copying all the contents (except the setting name) from my own to Generic, and it still doesn't work.

So is there any way we can set it, or do we have to change it from Generic to our own? Thanks!

Which controller are you using? I'm using a Logitech Dual Analog gamepad and it always defaults to the Logitech configuration rather than the Generic one.

One of our local controllers (surprisingly durable!). So I set my own settings so it would handle like the PS2 controls. But the default setting is always the Generic one. :-(

ok, to set ur config as the default one, open the generic.jfg file in the config folder (open my documents -> NBA LIVE 08) with notepad. Right at the end, u'll see a line :" ioconfig_mgr_default 1 " change this to " ioconfig_mgr_default 0 ". Then open your own config file. If u've named it X, it'll be X.jfg (again, in the config folder.) change " ioconfig_mgr_default 0 " to " ioconfig_mgr_default 1 ". It should work.

it's odd, it doesn't work for me. actually, the generic.jfg and my own setting (kontrols.jfg, how creative right?) have the same line in "ioconfig_mgr_default 0," which is disturbing.

Although there was that time that I copied everything (except the last line) from kontrols to generic. Maybe that also got copied. idk. If that's the case, then I'm such a butt for doing so.

Thanks, though, for the tip!

no, you have to edit Kontrols.jfg, and change ioconfig_mgr_default 0 to ioconfig_mgr_default 1. Then set it as read only. And also change generic.jfg -> ioconfig_mgr_default 1 to ioconfig_mgr_default 0.

Still no go; I really don't know what's going on. lol. Maybe it's just my copy of the game but that is just impossible!

Maybe I can change the default through my settings.dat? idk. I tried opening it with Ultraedit and Hex Editor Neo but I don't understand a thing. XD
