Suddenly fshx and CS3 dont like each other...

Thu Sep 25, 2008 11:03 pm

Currently I startet to work a bit with my live again...
Now if I want to open dds or bmp from fshx it doesnt work and vice versa. They just dont appear in the open/import screen of fhsx/cs3. Even if I type in the name it doesnt show anything. Windows still recognizers both and I can open the with IrfanView. I can only open them with drag&drop from the each open/import window.
Also I cant save dds with imported alphas. I reinstalled my dds plugin but it didnt change anything.

Thanks in advance

If both programs are having a similar problem of opening dds files, I think there is something else wrong. It sounds more like some kind of explorer problem, since dragging and dropping works. Try running FSHx in compatability mode or something.

As for the importing alpha problem, si it giving you the "too many channels" dialog box? The only way around that is to save the regular image as DXT3 and then reopen it in Photoshop, and paste your alpha into the newly created alpha.

I dont have too many channels, so I save in tga now. I dont think that its a explorer problem since they still can which their own files
