next-gen patching skill! 100% guarantee no misalig

Thu Sep 11, 2008 3:56 am

NBA LIVE 08 has almost com to an end, and everybody are all looking forward to 09; however, unfortunately we PC users cannot play with it since EA announced that there would not be a PC version of 09. Lots of people think that there will be fewer people patching since 09 won't be released on PC platform.

I do think there is an answer to that, because even if there is an 09 verion, it's gonna be pretty much similar to 08, and we can achieve almost the same effect through patching. :)

It is a very common problem for CF patchers that a bhd we made that looks great in photoshop did not really align very well in the game. Whenever this type of situation happens, we have to use trial and error, switching between PS and the game to test whether it has been fixed. It wastes a lot of time. Here I'd like to tell you guys a much more convenient method, which is to make bhed directly on the ebo model what we draw there will be exactly what it will look in the game. This will improve the efficiency dramatically.

The picture below is a preview of the alternative I mentioned above. What is more, the alignment issue can be done at one time without going into the game to test the effect. Here I'd liek to provide you guys with a professional software called BodyPaint, which is only used in game and animation design industry.

By using BodyPaint we can draw bhed directly on the ebo without worrying about misalignment and tedious in-game testings.

Uff!!! This is very interesting, it is a very nice discovery!! This will save a lot of time and there will be no more alignments problems! Thank you sooo much for sharing it with us, this will be very useful for patching. Please explain the program thoroughly if you can, I'm sure that more than one of us is confused. ;) Thank you once again and I hope to see more information from you. :D

This is fun to use, I've just found the head model but the demo version doesn't allow copying.

How do you insert D-Will's pic to the head model?

Fri Sep 12, 2008 1:41 am

The head model in the bodypaint program and the one in-game does not look the same to me.

An easier way (then normal) to test bhed chagnes would be to use the texmod program. Load up that player in practice mode, export his image with texmod, then switch to texmod's patching mode(may have to restart live with this). Everytime you make a change in photoshop, you save it to the DDS image being used by texmod, adn use it's "update" function to update the texture being used in the game. That way you don't have to import to the fsh and load up practice mode everytime you want to see a change.

BodyPaint can be as early as google search, here it is not convenient to release

这个可以直接画球衣的,例如一些两边对称的位置都可以随便修改,而且确保位置准确

PLEASE make a tutorial about opening the file of EBO....

Fri Sep 12, 2008 3:10 am

is it possible to edit the ebo file there??

Fri Sep 12, 2008 4:01 am

Yes. How do we convert the ebo to an obj file like you have?

Fri Sep 12, 2008 4:06 am

damn so we can edit net ebos and jersey ebos??

Fri Sep 12, 2008 6:01 am

Sorry, [P3teR L]uStiG, I wasn't actually answering your question. I was agreeing to a tutorial on how to convert ebo data. I'm not sure if bodypaint 3d can actually edit 3d mesh's.

Fri Sep 12, 2008 4:20 pm

A_NuKe, sir I've PM you already.. check it

great work!!
对我很有帮助,这个可以做预览图用, 如果说做球衣的话,还是在ps比较好,因为平面画比较容易点.....
你的软件确实很棒!!
