Anyway to increase salary cap in Dynasty Mode?

Sun Sep 07, 2008 10:07 am

I have been playing a Dynasty with Milwakee Bucks and I have a salary cap problem. Id like to trade a player, but every team, including mine, is over salary cap.

Is there a way to edit this Dynasty Mode to like add 50-100 mil to my salary cap? without starting a new dynasty mode.

go to players.dbf and edit your player's salaries to something like 100k

Do I use the DB Commander and go to saves folder and open it there?

Which column is it, would you know?

CASH_YEAR

note: it wont make your cap space bigger, but you would have more cap to work with(as much as you would ever need)

Didnt seem to work when I loaded the game. I added the CASH_YEAR of each player from like 17105 to like 105 and when loaded the game, the players contracts were still the same as before. Pau Gasole was still at 17+ mil.

strange...did you press the tick to save changes?

Um I really didnt know what to click to save inside the program. I just closed the program and I guess did not save anything.

Well I was using the DB Commander 2000 PRO, should I download a different version or something?

I dont see the pin, and when I openend the program up it still had the numbers that I put in. But in the game, still does not work.

You could always trade a player for another player with the same salaries...

Ex.
Player 1 - $1,000,000

for

Player 2 - $1,000,000

or

Player 1 - $500,000
Player 2 - $500,000

for

Player 1 : $1,000,000

Well what I wanted to do was sign Steve Nash who is a free agent cause I am in my 2010-11 season. I cant really trade anyone thats like 10mil for someone 1mil so my salary cap goes down and I cant sign Steve Nash.

that strange..you sure you are editing your Dynasty file not roster file? sometimes that mistake can occur...it works for me when i do it (readjust salaries to reflect real life)

Is this PC only?

Tue Sep 09, 2008 12:17 am

yes..unless you have invented a way to change the programming/save files for the console versions

Well here is a pic of what I have done so far and how it looks when I open the file up:
