Installing .rar files

Postby Shame94 on Tue Aug 12, 2008 8:23 am

What program do I need to use to install .rar files and where do I put these files in terms of my NBA LIVE 08 folders?

WinRAR is the program you need to use. Roster updates must be placed in the saves folder (which can be found in your NBA Live 08 folder under My Documents) while art files must be placed in the sgsm folder, which by default can be found at C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 08\sgsm.

OK, I know this is a very old thread and I apologize for opening it again, but I can't figure out how to use winRar to install updates. Is there a winRar for dummies thread somewhere?

WinRAR is an archive/compression utility like WinZIP. You use it to open .rar files and extract the files inside to the location of your choice. It doesn't matter where you to place them to begin with as you can always move them to the correct place afterwards. It's a pretty straightforward process: open file, click Extract, select folder you want to extract to, done.

Thanks. I downloaded the rar files for some court updates but didn't know where exactly in the sgsm folder to place them.

If they're loose files (eg .fsh and .ebo files), they can be placed in the sgsm folder. If they are in .viv format, they go in the stadia folder within the sgsm folder.
